Yes, Hockey season might end tonight with a win from the Vancouver Canucks. If they win, it will be the first time they win the cup. Who do you think will win? Why do you think they'll win?

I root for the Vancouver Canucks. Boston eliminated my dear Montreal Canadians. The Canucks are my 2nd favorite team and I wish they gain the cup. I'm not sure if they'll win game 6 if they repeat the disaster of game 3 and 4. (8-1 and 4-0).

Note* I'm aware that it's a sort of Vs Thread. That's why that I'm asking to explain your reasons. If things go out of order, I'm going to ask a mod to shut this thread down. (Or if they judge that the thread goes out of hand before I ask).

Note* I'm also aware that some people will say "I don't watch sports." I'm just asking to not be a buzz kill.

Vancouver's gonna take the cup. They completely deserve it. They've played hard, they've earned their spot in the finals, and they've been absolutely dogged by the media since day 1.

Tonight's their night to take it home.

I'm pulling for Vancouver but I haven't been keeping up much with anything hockey related this season. Especially since the Stars didn't even make the playoffs.

Exactly this.

Not to mention that I attended RIT with Chris Tanev and I would love to be able to brag that I attended school with a Stanley Cup winner.

As much as I want my beloved Canucks to win this series, I am kind of curious to see if we can top the level of damage we did to Robson street in '94 after we lost to the Rangers, oh the memories.

Gonna have to go with Vancouver. Boston knocked out my beloved Flyers [sub]even though they kinda deserved it *sob*[/sub]. Plus I kinda like the idea of a Canadian team winning the cup. Last time was what, 1993?

Being a Canadian, i know i'm supposed to be rooting for the Canucks. But since my team isn't there (Maple Leafs, big surprise there), i usually root for whichever team has the most players i like or whatever arbitrary measure i choose at the time. This year though, i went into it not knowing who to root for, since Kaberle is my favorite player and he just got traded to the Bruins from my team this year, i'm rooting for the Bruins. Or rather, i'm rooting for Kaberle.

I think the Canucks will win the Cup. Not tonight, I think Boston will pull out of this one with a win and force a game 7, but for game 7, I definitely think Canucks will win. They deserve it, no doubt, they've been playing spectacular all year. Not really a Canucks fan, but I'm still rooting for them, as they have a Dane, Jannik Hansen on their team and it would be very cool to have him be the first Dane to win a Stanley Cup in NHL history.

As a Calgary Flames fan, I despise the Canucks. Go Boston. (Plus Boston has more canadian players)

Funny, because I'm a Flyers fan and I want Boston to win because they beat us.

I consider them a Worthy Opponent, and I'd rather have my team lose to the future champions.

Plus Boston has more Canadian players on their roster. I don't care where their team is located.

I'm rooting for boston because I live closer to them that and my dad is rooting for them and since I'm neutral (Sabres FTW) I'm rooting for the Bruins. Now if the Bruins can win both teams I rooted for in the finals (Mavericks beat the heat) would have won.

plus Vancouver seem to be playing awfully dirty... more so than I'd like to see in the finals.
No dirtier than half a dozen other teams that have played in this playoff season.

Dallas almost went to the playoffs this year. They played a decent season. I heard that Brad Richards won't be returning to play at Dallas and their coach got fired. I'm wondering how they will play next season.

If it makes you feel better, the Flyers bought the negociating rights to the goaler Ilya Bryzgalov. He has good stats and was one of the players responsable for putting Phoenix in the playoffs. Yes, Phoenix...

I'm rooting for Boston. They've been really unlucky in the first two games, it could've been a sweep with some better luck (and Burrows should've been suspended after Game 1).

I think Vancouver will take it in 7. Seems like they need the home ice, and I'm saying this as a neutral party. I don't have a team I just like hockey and cheer on whoever I feel like at the time, (or the home team if I'm at a game because lynching is bad for your health). I'll probably start cheering for Winnipeg when they finally get their team back.

Well the NHL wants a Canadian team to win it so they're trying to give it to the Canucks. That said I'm cheering for the Bruins because I'm a Blackhawks fan.

Also, I get enjoyment out of watching "The Waiter" (Luongo) serve up copious amounts of goals.

BOSTON BRUINS!

Tim Thomas>Luongo
Sedin Sisters are a joke
Burrows is a huge pussy who has been embarrassed time and time again. honestly? biting?
Bruins out hitting the Canucks who are a bunch of spineless punks
Rome biggest cheap shot I've ever seen

Bruins deserve it!
What time is it? 12 PAST LUONGO!

Now that my friends is a rant(much bias)

This comment just made my day.

Maybe for a game tops, but that wasn't as big of an issue as Boston would like it to be...

OT: I don't really have a dog in this fight (Go Wings!!!) but I think that Vancouver is going to win. Either they close it out tonight or they finish it off at home Game 7 [footnote]although I would caution against relying on Home Ice too much, that doesn't always work, no matter how dominate you may be at home (see-2009)[/footnote]. I think Vancouver has the better team frankly and let's all be honest here: Western Conference > Eastern Conference hands down, it was always going to be one of the top 3 seeds out of the West
