Both, and I've been ridiculed too. Most of my relatives didn't get it.

Makes since it would be the Left hand, Link has been concidered to be left-handed as he normally wields his sword in that hand(They switched it for Twilight Princess since the Wiimote is mainstreamed as to be in the "Right hand").

I would never get it myself, but if I saw someone with that particular tattoo, I would give them a high-five.

As long as you're cool with having it with you for the rest of your life, go for it man. It should be pretty cool. And if you ever consider another gaming tattoo may I recommend the Assassin's Creed symbol?

I've always felt tattoos should be as subtle as possible, doubly so for those related to a medium like videogames.

I think its cool, but if I were to get a Triforce tattoo I wouldn't put it somewhere so constantly visible. Tattoos in places that difficult to cover don't always go well for seeking future employment.

QFT!

Cool idea for ink but get it somewhere that will be covered by your work outfit when you are in your desired career. Hand/face tattoos are only for people who either work in the industry or plain old just don't care anymore.

Depends if you're right-handed or left-handed. Link has his on his left hand because he's left handed.

NO!

god what are you stupid or something. Tattoos are idiotic enough as it is but you're thinking of defacing you're body for the sake of a nostalgic video game. Not only will it look stupid in real life but everyone you meet is gonna think you're a tool. I hope you already have a kick ass job cuz you do that and guess what it just became a helleva lot harder.

Tatooing is, in many cultures, an expression of personal art and a sign of adulthood. It's WASP tendencies that demean tatooing as a way of junvenily acting out, and it's unfortunate that non service industries countinue to count against people with ink.

I have no tatoo's. I've never had a drink. I've never smoked, tobacco or weed. But I support everyones rights to do these things, for I am-

MIDDLE CLASS APOLOGIST MAN! Dun dada da!*carries off his apology podium majestically*

That being said, the back of your hand is a had idea for several reasons:

1. Concealability. The thing about jobs is true. If an Employer can see your tatoo and you cannot easily cover it, unless your trying to be a cook or tech support, thats a big strike against you.

2. THE BACK OF THE HAND FUCKING HURTS ARE YOU NUTS? That is a tremendously sensitive area and thin on fatty tissue, you'll be needling the bone, it will HURT LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING DEEP HURTING MOTHERFUCK. Upper arm is traditional for a reason. Go for the Bicep.

3. Recovery time may make it hard for you to use that hand for a while.

4. Tatoo's can be pretty expensive. The Tri Force is a fairly basic design though, so you should be cool.

I don't have any tattoos and am not planning on getting any, so my opinion might not matter as much. I don't hold anything against folks who have them though.

If you're seriously thinking of getting a tattoo on the back of your hand, you'd better ask yourself a few questions:

"Is it worth the initial physical pain (I've heard tattoos on the back of hands HURT)?"

"Is this worth the prospect of potentially not getting hired by an employer for having such a visible tattoo?"

"Am I going to still enjoy it when I'm 75 years old after my skin sags and the ink blurs?"

If you can honestly say "yes" to all three, then go ahead. If not, you might consider applying it on a less visible part of the body or forgo it entirely. Additionally, there are alternatives to consider, such as mehndi. It's a temporary form of skin decoration that can last for a few weeks and is painless.

yeah that's great for those countries and cultures and all but getting a sign from a video game is NOT a form of self expressionism. You want to know why people aren't taking tattoos serious.

It's because people like this want to get video game or anime or comic book symbols. It's because stupid college girls keep getting butterfly and dolphin tramp stamps and names of boy friends they're just gonna end up breaking up with. It's because idiotic beer funneling douche bags get shitty tribal designs or Japanese/Chinese letting they not only can't read but don't under stand the significance of. it's because Tattooing [/b]HASbecome a way for juveniles to act out and get attention.

If it's something meaningful and personal hats one thing but a fucking video game symbol made by a company that doesn't give two shits about you unless you're buying their latest money printer isn't really classy material.

If you want to get a tattoo fine but put some fucking thought into it beyond Drrr I really really like Zelda[/spoiler] maybe then people will respect tattoos that have actual significance. Gaming's a hobby it shouldn't be your life

First tattoo on the back of your hand? Ouch.
I might advise against it at this stage in such a visible area. Leave it until you know you?re going to be in a job or are in a job where it won?t be a problem.
