so in RPGs what do you usualy choose to be good or evil?
why?

i personaly mostly choose being evil because its
A) more fun to kill people then being nice to them
B) it kind of let me release all my evil in the game so im a better person in reality

I always make the choices as I would accordingly in real life. I'm often called the nicest asshole my friends ever met. So I guess both good and evil.

I usually play through the first time choosing as I would if the situations brought before me where real. After that I play through choosing both extremes.

What if I don't subscribe to your simplistic notion of good and evil? What if I don't play games thinking, "today I am only going to commit good/evil actions" what if I just play the way that feels right to me without considering or questioning any inherent morality in my actions?

... Usually I go for "good" though...

I'm leaning more towards good, though when faced with difficult decision, I often make a separate save and try the evil as well, for the lulz. But most of the times, I'm on the good side, except if someone/something really, REALLY crosses the line.

Renegade Female Shepard.

No, seriously. This is the first thought I had when answering this poll. Actions are definitely unexpected at times, more than a little bad ass (thanks to Jennifer Hale's talent), and, most importantly, a great source of the lulz.

And thinking about it more, really those are the moments I remember most in RPGs. From the option in KOTOR II by dealing with NPCs in Nar Shadda by having them jump over the railing (via Force), or your random Shepard's punching/head butting/collar grabbing antics, it's always good for a laugh.

I chose "C" because often times the only thing that decides what is good and what is evil is one's perspective, plus in RPGs some choices give you to options that are in actuality both rather evil and rather arbitrarily assigns one option to be the "good" one, I think that this is best explained in Extra Credit's Enriching Lives (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/1974-Enriching-Lives)

I often create 3 save files the "good" one, the "evil" one and the "me" one... occasionaly I'll create a fourth that I try to keep neutral
