Damn I thought a real babe change was in order like that guy who wanted to rename himself like Vegeta Sepiroth a few years back.

Well obviously if I was getting a real name change I wouldn't be putting it up for a vote, Blood Feast Island Man and Victor Von Doom (just because I want to be called Doctor, but have no desire to get a PhD) would be my two choices, decided by a coin toss.

I thought he already was. He doesn't need a name change to tell us that!

I hate it when people change their names or their avatars, it makes it hard to keep track of who is who. Like, whenever I see a name I don't recognize with a high post count I have to go back in their post history to see if they've changed it.
Well, this is awkward.

...I'll see myself out.

Edit: what about badges?

Nah, you must be mistaken. No one would ever put "[Name of gemstone]Fusion" as their username. That would be silly.
Apparently, Jux...I mean, FeministOverlord...would!

Badges carry next to no identity. Even if someone puts a lot of thought into picking badges that match their personality perfectly, chances are it's going to end up looking like the same busy strip of colour that everybody else has under their avatar. Badges are just way too small and samey to make any sort of memorable impact. I would actually turn them off if I had the option, because they basically just clutter up the screen.

Also I liked your old avatar better, your new one is actually kind of irritating to look at, it's like she's mocking me.

Since I associate your username with a tiger cartoon (I know, it's Hobbes, but still) I'll just-

I'll just leave this here as my suggestion.

Err, you *do* have that option. Right here:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/forum_options
You can turn off both badge display and badge notifications on that page.

(I guess you never clicked the "Forum Options" button at the top-right of every forum thread?)

I'd say stick with your current name. Not a huge fan of any of the choices in the poll.

Oh. Thanks, I was looking under "Browsing Options."

Edit: looks like someone else in this thread just changed their name, what a coincidence.

I have had the same username for ten years. I should have it trade marked. Jux (pronounced 'Juhcks'?) is simple to understand and easy to remember. Just build your reputation to suit your name. Of the choices you highlighted for review, select the one your feel best reflects you. If you come up with some more, put those in the running.

That's not what I did. I just prefixed a noun from a then-current interest with my favorite color. Boom. A legend was ignored.
