My opinions on this upcoming game fluctuate. Sometimes I'm excited out of my trousers for this upcoming game because the original was awesome.

Sometimes I'm glad that they're also adding new things, because the original isn't quite as fun as I remember it, unless you're in good company, so adding new things should make it fun for the modern age.

However sometimes I don't like the changes. I'm not a big fan of cover systems, and even though I enjoy COD, I don't like the aim-down-sights thing that loads of games have. I don't really care for or even notice destructible environments either. Also the anti-camper mode (wherein you get blown up if you stay still for over a second) is stupid. If I choose that mode and have to deliver a package to the sewers, my score is going to go down like Disney's credibility. However nobody's forcing me to play it, so I can let that slide.

Sometimes, and this is the most frequent thought, I get disappointed that they couldn't create a new IP (Intellectual Property for PWAFOAs (People who aren't fond of Acronyms)) and instead went:
"Hey Bill, I'm out of ideas for a new current generation video game"
"Well what did you enjoy playing as a child?"
"Custer's revenge"
"..."
"And Goldeneye for N64"
"Well why don't you-"
"My God you're right! I should remake Goldeneye!"
"No I meant-"
"Exactly, Why wait for a new film? I mean the people making Blood stone just made one up! So let's just remake Goldeneye!"
"No I meant make a new game that keeps the positive aspects of Goldeneye but can still stand up in this day and age as a modern game"
"Oh, well I got it! We'll remake Goldeneye-"
"Did I not just say-"
"Shut up and let me finish Bill! We remake Goldeneye but add things from other popular shooters to make our game completely generic and unoriginal."
"Why are you the boss again?"
"And maybe some Native-American raping!"
"*o_O*...Seriously Max, you've got issues!"

So what do you think? Are you praising the angels of heaven for this blessing or cursing the demons of hell for this abomination? Or are you just thanking the blokes of earth for this game? Please let me know.

I think that not many people care about Goldeneye anymore. Not in this day of Halo, Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. It may have been the shooter king back in the day but its time has long passed. The only reason I can think of for it existing is that the Wii's online multiplayer capability is leaps and bounds behind the Xbox and PS3, meaning that it'll probably be played in split screen, which is well and good but it only further entrenches the Wii in the past. Shooter fans are so used to online multiplayer these days, I gotta wonder if it's gonna catch on...

So where's the "Loved the Original, Hate the Remake" option in your poll?

I loathe and despise this Goldeneye of Duty remake with every fiber of my being. Activision just handed it right on over with orders to make it a Call of Duty clone. They've effectively destroyed everything good and unique about Rare's original game.

Call it nostalgia but I hate the aiming down sights, Daniel Craig in it, the call of Duty like atmosphere, everything about it. Campaign looks even more linear than the original, graphics are crap (of course, it's on the Wii), multiplayer is a joke with their modes that were originally cheats in the N64 version.

The cheats in GE64 were great and granted a lot of replayability (All Guns and Unlimited Ammo especially) and I highly doubt this remake will have them.

It's overall plain, utter crap and a slap in the face to Rare.

And it's coming out on the entirely wrong console in the first place for such an audience, but that's fine because even if it were coming out for the Xbox360 or PS3 I wouldn't touch the game at all. I'm just grateful to have its improved successor, Perfect Dark on the Xbox and that's all I'll need.

I'm just angry the direction that the remake is going in.
