I did the search, and came up with nothing, but if I missed it, point me to the thread.

So after Volume 3 of Heroes, I had basically given up on the show. At first all the rediculous twists and turns were so bad it was funny, but towards the end I just said "fuck it" and although I watched it to the end of 3, I decided to quit the show.

Yesterday, though, I was bored out of my skull and there was nothing on TV. I decided to look for something on demand and saw that I had the two new episodes from Volume 4 up. I thought to myself "I'm probably going to regret it, but what the hell..." and watched the first episode.

And I was shocked.

It was amazing again! No more convoluted twists, no more rediculous plotlines, no more pointless characters and drama. It was entertaining because it was entertaining again, not because it was so bad! So, I crossed my fingers and watched the second episode (I remember thinking the same thing about the first episode of Volume 3, but was sadly mistaken once I saw the second) and it was still great. Better dialogue and everything. In fact, it felt like a mixture of Heroes and 24.

So, I think Heroes is finally going to be good again for the right reasons. It's gone back to its roots.

What do you guys think? Will it finally be better again? Will it fall back into the rut of redonkulousness? Or is it to late to revive the show, even if it is better?

... or have you even tried Volume 4? If you liked Volume 1, suggest you at least watch the first new episode.

I thought I was done with Heroes but maybe I'll check this out. I loved series 1 but since then it's been terrible. Series 2 was just boring, nothing happened. Series 3 was actually entertaining, simply because it was just stupid.

I don't know, us guys won't get Heroes for awhile anyway so...*shrug*

Fancast.com, man. If you can get there, you can watch Heroes. They post new episodes after they air every week.

The start of volume 2 was the low point for me and I think it's too early to judge season 4 at the moment.

Actually, this is the second half of season 3... Volumes 3 and 4 are both part of season 3. Volume 3 is over, and 4 has started, and it's really a lot better than the first half of the season.

But I still get ya... it will take a bit more time to be sure, but I'm generally an optimist, so I'm gonna keep on hopin' until I see it shoot downhill.

I may have to check those out via the internets. I loved season 1, and where as I thought 2 was where it went downhill a bit, I enjoyed some of the character development in season 3, and thought it a slight improvement.

At least you can't complain things are going slowly - someone's already dead!

I saw an episode this week and I thought it was pretty good. The plot actually seems to be moving now.
I hope it becomes something revolutionary again.

It's because Brian Fuller is back. For those of you who don't know, Brain Fuller was the head writer for the first season, but left to do "Pushing Daisies" on ABC. Now that it's been canceled, he's back to save Heroes. YAY!

True, but I liked her... guess they're just getting rid of the bad memories from Volumes 2+3? =P

um, to me the first season was obviously the best. Second season was good, and still interesting. Third season was absolutely fucking horrible though. Words cannot describe how much i hated it, but ill try and find the proper words anyways.

-Stupid plot
-Did not care about new characters
-Holes in the plot, like S2 characters not returning, or Hiro and Peter not using his powers when he could have
-The direction was going nowhere
-Had too many "flashback/forward" episodes
-Made me not give a shit about ANYONE anymore
-It was all over the place. Take sylar for example: Wanna get Claire, now i dont, now i wanna kill the company, now i wanna join and be good, now i want to kill again, no i want to help Peter, wait now i want to go to Pinehearst now, Pinehearst showed me how to love Elle, fuck elle and arthur im killing again. Things like that happened to all the characters, and my favorite characters like Mohinder and Peter made me not care whether they died or not anymore.

As for Season 4 now, i can tell that its a LOT better, although it has to recover from so much bullshit, that i dont even know if i can say its better than season 2.

I'm afraid Mexican ***** AKA Maya is still alive, just written out because she has no powers in the 3rd season. If you want to stream an episode I would try sidereel.

I've had no problems with any of the series, I think the plot is good and the characters are good.
The only problem I have is that they all keep changing sides like, every episode.

the only issue i'm having with volume 4 is it's more or less a rip off of the xmen now, the whole super-powered ppl getting hunted down by the government was right out of xmen

other than that it's looking to get more excitement in the show, they had some pacing issues, that volume 3 kinda solved, so this should fix even more hopefully

Sounds like it's gonna be a good season, although I enjoyed seasons 2 and 3 even when they forgot some things (I wonder when Peter will remember he left that Irish bird in a future that probably doesn't exist anymore)

It wasn't before? The X-men pretty much came up with every possible super power you could ever want and some you wouldn't (dazzler). That's probably why Sylar has a 'I can tell when you're lying' power now because the writer thought it would be original and didn't stop to think that power is made redundant by the umbrella of telepathic abilities.
