I have a feeling this thread is going to be very one sided.

I hate Twilight, I had to go see the first one with my little sister and it was terrible.

I really dont see how so many people can like that crap. I mean the main girl characters face expression does not change through out the movies! Not a good actor at all

I don't hate it. I watched the movie, (the first one, I haven't seen the second one, yet), and I didn't explode. It was just average.

I've tried to read the books, but haven't gotten the chance. I will at some point though.

..Sigh, another Twilight thread?

Terrible writing skills, and over excessive use of adjectives that have no point to be there if only for attempting to make the author look more "intelligent" then they actually are.

.. I will say no more than that. *Quickly hops out of the gasoline covered pit*

Haven't seen or read anything from it and I do not have the desire to do so.

I'm tired of this thread...

Look, the fans are worse than the saga itself. I actually tried to watch the movie and it was... well, it was awful. It was seriously the most boring thing I've ever seen. It's filled to the top with oversexualization that's obviously targeted at teen girls and things targeted at teen girls make a lot of money. The movie was terrible, but people like it for the same reason people watch porn.

Thanks to my ex (and no, it isn't the reason she's my ex), I read all the books, and saw the first movie with her.

It was such utter crap!

It's crap. A load of bulldust written by a lady who shamelessly self-inserts and has no respect for researching established archetypes.

The writing is atrocious and ...honestly, when I heard that she put "scintillating" to describe Edward's chest I thought she actually meant sculptured or titillating or something. When I saw the damn vampire sparkled I thought 'oh god, she actually meant it'.

But I s'pose she wrote it at just the right time - people were hungry for more fantasy, left broken-hearted after Harry Potter finished and eager to grab on to the first thing they thought could fill the void.

Haven't read the books or seen the films. I don't really care any more to be honest. The only reason I would care is if someone told me that the vampire in Twighlight were so real (as real as vampires are anyway) then I just want to slap them with a wet fish. We all know vampires are meant to suck blood, have no mercy, seductive (but not like a fairy cake) and to be chilling to the core.

I respect it, actually. As you do anything that makes slightly more money than you can imagine.
As far as the actual series goes, I dislike the vampire trend it caused more than I do it. It's just annoying to be looking around a bookstore, and see a whole wall of 'different' vampire books, all with black, white and red covers. Often they even have the word "Twilight" in the subtitle on the back.

The book = interesting ideas for what is essentially a published fanfic. Terrible writing, though.

The movie = not really that bad. Not good, by any stance, but it was very average.

Oh, wait? People are going to read this? In that case:

TWILIGHT IS GAY, SPARKLE-SPARKLE! LOL!

I'm not an overt fan of romance, especially the kind targeted at teenage girls.

Which is probably reasonable given my gender and age.

Aside from that, I've read one of the Twilight books and I find the writing style rather lacking. What's her name is not a very good author.

Aside from those complaints, I've got nothing against her vision of vampires. Vampires are fictional creatures, and the only thing you absolutely have to have to be a vampire is drinking blood. Hell, even that has exclusions. I've got nothing against sparkles.

Frankly, if Stephanie Meyer was a good writer, it would be interesting to see vampires explored from more emotional side. Alas, she isn't a good writer.

People trying to push completely pre-made stereotypes in fantasy should just shut up. I'm as sick of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings clones as I'm sick of wanna-be Dracula's and shit. Be creative, there's only one or two traits in most fantasy creatures you absolutely have to have. Dwarves are short. Vampires drink blood. Were-anythings turn into whatever, under some conditions or whenever they please. Everything else is your own imagination.

I dont get what all the hate is about. I've only watched the first one and it wasn't that great. It wasn't the worst movie ever though as some of you people make it out to be. It was just meh.
