I've logged over a hundred hours, so far, in Tales of the Abyss. Mostly it's due to grinding and trying to fulfill all of the side-quests (and I missed one and am now very pissed off about that.) I've also probably got a good 80 to 100 hours in Final Fantasy XIII, also due to grinding because, well, that's sort of what I do.

Probably should add that these are on a single playthrough ? in total, I've probably played over 400 hours worth of Tales of the Abyss since I'm on my third play-through of the game.

Oblivion was the first open-world game I'd ever played, so I was blown away and played it into the ground. Probably over 300 hours on that game.

I've played New Vegas for exactly 208 hours so far. Many more to come as I've just started up a new save file and installed Old World Blues.

Well I tend to mostly play big sandbox style RPGs/Action games, i.e. Anything made by Bethesda or Rockstar. I could almost say the same for Bioware as I like many of their titles but they only have 2 that are mostly sandbox, KOTOR1 and the ME series. Dragon age(1) was quite short I felt and restrictive, since 2 was going to be even smaller I skipped it. Just Cause 2 and Fable3
are also good examples

Anyway...:p Bethesda RPG's can get hundreds of hours of play for me, without the DLC's. I logged almost 200 hours in Fallout: New Vegas before I forced myself to stop for awhile. I was so badass I decided to wait till all the DLCs where out before continueing, but then Skyrim came out...

Currently spending alot of time out of game in Skyrim because im not only cross-referenceing my strat guide and marking my map for the best Items and powers but looking up all the glitchs and cheats that people have come up with. Thats when you know a game has hooked you, even when your not playing your constatly thinking about it...

Under 50 on most single player games, though if I finally get around to doing my 'optimal' play throughs of Mass Effect 1/2 before 3 comes out that'll push them over.

Over 50 in MMOs, predictably, and the occassional single player game that I absolutely love - Doom and Minecraft being two that come to mind.

Not sure what my most played game would be - probably a 2 way race between City of Heroes and Minecraft, with Fallen Earth and Doom not far behind.

And possibly Dawn of War and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

Any rpg's I tend to replay, logging between 100 -200 hours. If it's a shooter, or action-oriented game, I tend not to play it for more than 50 hours.

my longest is either Falout 3 or New Vegas, with at least 300 hours on each game across all my saves.
runner-up is TF2 (which seems popular...) at around 90 hours.

I know I've played Pokemon for over 500 hours since that game is my constant crack addiction. Diablo 2 I know I have close to a thousand hours put into that game and multiple play throughs only because it's my comfort game.

Any RPG is going to have a lot of time put into it by me and anything else will most likely not have a lot put in just because I tend to faff about in RPGs.

I logged over 800 hours on final fantasy x, about 500-600 on oblivion, and an awful lot already on skyrim. I suppose it depends on the type of game people play more than anything.

According to steam:
120 in Skyrim
100 in Dragon Age: Origins
60 in Mass Effect 2

But the winner is....
*drums*
WORLD OF WARCRAFT
~3000 HOURS!

EDIT: Found some other games I've played a lot (in steam)
Global Agenda: 80 hours
Civ 5: 109 hours

And around 1000 hours of Warcraft 3 and ~400 hours of Starcraft 2

I think my highest is around 400-500, which I believe is Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, FFX coming close behind if you count all my playthroughs.

But typically I spend less than 40 hours on a game, especially recently because I don't spend time with my games like I used to. When I used to get games, I would play the hell out of them until I knew almost every single thing about the game, then I would fall back and play my older ones some more, since I didn't get new games that often. Now, I can barely even beat the main story of a game before I feel inclined to move onto another, since I have so many in my backlog to play.

It kind of sucks.

EDIT: I forgot about Guild Wars... that is probably up near or past MHFU.

600+ hours in one single game of pokemon, though collectively if you took every pokemon game I've played it would probably be over 9000.

Most time is probably Guild Wars with around 500 hours if I remember correctly. Then there are games like Diablo 2 (been playing since i was.. 10 maybe) and Champions Online and Oblivion, which i also invested a lot of time in.

Typically less than 50, but there are certain games I have put more than a thousand hours into. Namely the L4D games, and Battlefield games. That not combined hours, but how much time I have put into each separate installment.

Beyond multiplahyer though, I think the max I have put into a single player game is 190ish hours in dragon age origins. 2nd place goes to Skyrim with about 150 hours, but I think I may have left that one running several times overnight.

1098 hours into TF2. Close second is DNF at 95 hours. Average not counting those outliers is in the 20-30 hour range.

I've beaten Chrono Cross 13 times IIRC, at between 30-40 hours per playthrough, so roughly it's between 390-520.

I don't tend to play open world games for that drastic a length of time.

Thousands and thousands of hours playing Unreal Tournament 2004. I don't have proof, but I know for a fact that I've spent more time in that game than any other. And I'm still playing it :)

Easily 1000 hours on FFXII. About 6 playthroughs, while doing all the sidequests and hunts and whatever.

I think GTA Vice City and Rome: Total War come very close to that as well.
I thought some people were lying with their "OvAr 1500 hourz pl4yed rawr!@!" numbers. Until, i saw my TF2 number on steam....I can't believe i spent 502 hours on a game i SWEAR i only played 1 or 2 hours a WEEK, tops.

That said...on games NOT created by the Daedric coven that is Valve, About 150 hours is my ceiling--usually on RPGs: ToV, Skyrim, and FFXII.

HINDSIGHT ENTRY: probably 2 thousand hours on a heavy-modded Tribes 2 , i know played the hell outta that waaaay more than i do TF2 now. Im talking 2 years past the official server shutdown date. Shazbot! with all those hours i coulda learned an instrument or another language!
Well, considering I played Unreal Tournament 2003 online when it first came out (which was for 3 years non stop more or less) then Unreal Tournament 2004 came out, I played it profusely from 2005-2009. I recently started playing it again since August 2011.

But like you were hinting at, the more you enjoy something the more you are likely to play it :)

I must say, my gaming time has gone down considerably.

It's strange because I gamed more when I was in college than I do now I'm unemployed. Hmm...

I'm more of a "play everything" type person these days, and I'm not much for multiplayer unless it's a particularly special game. Don't play MMOs due to pricing. So usually I'll play through a game's campaign, however long that is, and then move on. If it's a good game, I'll replay the campaign from time to time (months or years apart).

The last games I played that just stole all of my time for months on end were Raven Shield (multiplayer) and Morrowind.
