Hokay, so I'm a massive fan of TES: Oblivion. Truly shone out as a game for me, so I was looking to see when TES:Skyrim might be out, and it looks like not for a fair while yet. I've practically completed Oblivion in terms of owning all the stuff and doing all the quests, so I was looking to get the entire series.

I know you can get Freeware versions of TES: Arena and TESII: Daggerfall, but a few people have said these are massively bugged, and that Daggerfall is simply too big to fathom completion.

So I come to you loyal escapists, and ask your gaming knowledge. Should I get the entire series, or just select games?

Definitely get yourself a copy of Morrowind, and since the first two are free there's no real reason not to get them - nobody is putting a gun to your head and making you play/finish them after all. Try them out and see for yourself.

I think you can download both Arena and Daggerfall straight from the Officail site.

Consult the UESP wiki before you make any decisions.

If you buy Morrowind, realize it is much different from Oblivion

This Mod might also help: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5535

Thanks for the advice everyone

EDIT: Oh maaaan! I'm trying to install it but it's just saying "Can only install from floppy" :( anyone got this and knows of a way to fix it by any chance?

You need to set up a DOSBox.

I personally hated Morrowind but loved Oblivion, so dunno. Lot of people seem to like Morrowind, so you might.

its unfortunate you played the worst of the series first. And its unfortunate the the worst of the series ruins the other games because the fighting is just done so much better.

Gosh I want to go back to the days where I have yet to play Oblivion and can bask in the gold light that was Morrowind

It really is a shame that you've played Oblivion before Morrowind. Morrowind is by far a better game, but at this point, you'll have been spoiled by the combat system and graphics of Oblivion. You will probably not be able to see how it pales in comparison to Morrowind.

And make sure to get the GOTY version. On computer. (thousands of mods)

Morrowind, Morrowind, Morrowind, Morrowind, Morrowind, Morrowind, Morrowind.

My point is that you should definitely get Morrowind.
