Poll: Transformers: War for Cybertron

I'm not really interested, but that "Transformers" game on the PS2 was pretty damn good, whichever bloody iterration after the original series it was based on.

That was Armada, and I enjoyed that game. I might dust it off and play it again.

<3 it looks fucking good. Of course that had no gameplay footage or graphics but it looked good. I'm excited for it, and if the gameplay looks half as good and as fun I'll get it for sure.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. The multiplayer excites me the most as they have said they want to focus on team multiplayer with objectives, I be there would be Team deathmatch and standard as well though.

The only problem I imagine with multiplayer is how would they do it exactly? Are they going to let people make their own transformers? (I fucking hope so) or are they going to let people pick who to play? If so it's pretty much going to be a swarm of optimuses versus a swarm of megatrons, starscreams and soundwaves.

From what I understand, it's a character basis. I'm going for Shockwave myself, but I'm sure they'll find a way to keep the game from having too many. Like if one person is one character on a team, then you can't be him or something.

I looked at the trailer a few times and managed to pick out Ratchet and a few others too.

But I think they're looking like good character designs, you can tell they're looking at the G1 stuff and thinking "How can we make this suit a Cybertron setting and update it without making them look like crap."

If so it'd be a race to pick one of the aforementioned, a bunch of people who were "Real fans" or so they'd scream rage quitting and then everyone picking whoever they don't hate.
Honestly I think a sorta "create a character" feature would be nice, not necessarily for stats but just for looks or something, pick your alt mode, weapons and colours, probably head design too and way to go.

Actually, if they're smart they would do a TF2 and have each character as a class. People can go who ever they want but they have strengths and weaknesses.

OT: I'm going to pre-order as soon as possible. This game is based on my all-time favorite TF comic - it's got grit, violence, actual character depth, shit blowing up and (best of all) NO ANNOYING HUMANS AT ALL!!! 2004's Armada-based game was a blast, and I'm having very high hopes for this one as well. I mean, the gameplay is apparently going a very much established route, the setting is awesome, it even seems like they've got one or more of the original voice-actors... the only thing I'm sceptical about (as always) is the vehicle mode controls, since we all know it's still quite possible for devs to screw up driving mechanics - and in this case they've got to get flying right as well.

I wonder if Megatron can turn into a gun and be picked up in this one or if they're going with cybertronian tank mode. (Christ thanks to the newish cartoon it's hard as hell to find the original concept images of what a lot of the characters cybertron forms looked like)

In the first G1 episode they looked like trucks, cars, jets, etc BEFORE they came to earth.

I think it's a safe bet they'll get them right, since they will be a core part of the gameplay.

Megatron being a gun, how would you play him with that? I don't mind a tank-ish mode because it still makes him one bad ass Decepticon.

Shockwave is in it, I remember an article on Kotaku about it.

Also, in their robot modes yes, but in vehicle mode they were Cybertronian vehicles, I think it was to save making two robot modes for them in one episode.

I think they're trying to stay as far away from those things as they can.

I'm a Generation 1 fan as well, but we need to be able to at least give things a chance right? We can disown it if it turns out rubbish.

I have no hope for Transformers after what Michael Bay did to it, no matter who makes the new ones any more. I will check it out but I give it 15 minutes before I walk out because of how crappy it is. If it beats that time I will call it a good movie(comparing it to Michael Bays Transformers).

No, do not want. They just screw up the series whenever they touch it. let the body of a once great metal planet decay and rust alone and in peace.

Whenever who touches it? Considering it's based off War Within I think it has potential, plus the character designs at least have them look like who they are, unlike the Bay films.

That's alright, I figured that might have been why. I haven't seen any game footage released yet. The main trailer only has a cutscene but it looks good. Go to game trailers and just look up Transformers: War for Cybertron.

It's a third person shooter, with the option of playing both sides of the conflict. So it's setting is the civil war that consumed their home.

I never really followed the original Transformers (unless I did as a child and don't remember), but after the first Bay film my interest was piqued. Now I love it just because of those films, as much as some would look down on me for that, and have always wanted a good, note: good Transformers game.

Due to that last statement, I'll forget you liked the Bay film Have you looked at some of the comics or series that aren't based on those movies?

did you see any of the series after i think '03 they also got bad very quick. if the game gets favorable reviews i may try it but i am not expecting much

Fair enough, just keep an eye out. I have to admit though, I think this one looks promising.
