Twilight has swept the nation and I don't see what the big deal is. I have not read any of the books or seen the movie, and don't want to. This is my basic overview of it: There's a human girl and a vampire dude, and they can't love each other but they do anyway. WOW, THAT HAS'NT EVER BEEN USED BEFORE. And I don't care if it got $70.6 million in the box office. That doessn't make the movie any good. Out of fifteen different sites that was posted on Google, the average rating was 2.6 out of 5.

So far most of the people who I've seen reading it is teenage girls, and I've also heard that it has like eight sex sceens. I opened the first book off a freind to a random page, and it said, "He put his arms around her waist," and that was all the proof I needed. Besides, Vampires are way overated. You know whats missing in this world... Werewolfs; and for all the twilight fans reading this, DON'T SEND ME HATE MAIL ABOUT THERE BEING WEREWOLFS IN THE BOOK. I'm talking about a full werewolf book, not just some on the side.

What do you think?

I really don't understand the obsession with this book. From what I've heard they use the whole vampire thing as a metaphore for sex anyway... then they actually have sex, messed up stuff, eh?

I don't count the popularity of things against them. I don't care to read HP, but the movies were fun. I can at least say I TRIED to read the first couple o' books. I may or may not read Twilight...I'm too wrapped up in Timeline-191 right now. If you don't know what that is, wiki it. But don't read too much. It'll spoil it ALL.

This kind of goes along with my old twilight thread, but yeah sure...

We could use some more werewolf fiction done well...

As long as they remain badass, I'm fine with that

I mistakenly picked the option "Gremily SUCKS", I thought Gremily related to the book in some way, so I would like to apologize for that.

Anywho, Twilight sucks, and I invite anyone who disagrees to attempt to show me otherwise.
You are welcome here.

I have not read or seen the Twilight book or movie, and do not EVER doing so, but I honestly don't have a problem with fanboys/girls (and yes, there are fanboys) who are obsessed with the Twilight series. I just have a problem with the sheer fanbase that the book has shown me exists for this kind of stuff.
But returning to the point, I picked "I don't care" because it will fade in due time. Just let it run it's course. Eventually the last remnants of it will be slight references and the fanfics written by the extreme fanboys/girls.

This doesn't suprise me, I personally think the movie will suck and have no intention of seeing it, all the really well received movies aren't that good. For example: the Dark Night was awful and There Will Be Blood was only good for the main actor.

Every time, I see someone reading Twilight, I let them borrow my Buffy DVD's. Problem solved; they never read twilight again.

I'm just kidding, nobody over 17 reads twilight. But that would solve the problem.

It's the same sort of fad as Titanic was 10 years ago, albeit, not as popular...

I have some friends who are girls and liked the books but hated the movies. Maybe that says something about them as well as my taste in women but as far as I know, from what I've read on Wikipedia, none of the books were well recieved except in the sales department.
I think vampires are cool, okay? But from what it seems is just "sexual tension, sexual tension, sexual tension...no resolution." I mean if anything that movie and those books could be commended for making vampires dull again.
The popularity makes me want to take Alucard's 13 millimeter Jackal Anti-freak combat pistol and stick it between the teeth of anyone who says the words "Edward Cullen."

I think there's a quick test you can administer to see if you'd like Twilight. Look down your pants. Do you see a penis? If yes, then no, you won't like Twilight. Unless you're gay or have to pretend to so your girlfriend will continue to provide "the goods".
Why would gays be interested in this messed-up straight romance movie?

Don't intend to watch this movie. Go watch the first 12 episodes of True Blood instead. Same type story, probably a hell of a lot better.

I'm afraid I picked Gremily sucks as well - sorry.

And I agree with you 100%. Twilight is far too popular for its own good... it's like drugs for depressed emo teen girls who are fooled into believing that some guy called Edward Cullen exists.
