I orginally wrote this for shelfari but seeing as the only other reviews consitted of a one line "edward was in it so it sucks" I've decided to paste here, I'm willing to critise books, films, games random things perhaps I think myself of a much kinder Yathzee.

Twilight, the book of a thousand arguments and pretty darn popular at the moment. I read this before the movie (well around the time of the movie's release but I read this without knowing of it) I finished it quickly so I could catch the film on it's last day. It got me into the dark fantasy/romance genre and for that I'm glad and if I had given this a rating after I'd read it it would've been 5 stars easily.

However knowing of more books and of being frankly appalled at the amount of publicity this poorly written tripe has gotten compared to their gleaming works (LJ, Pc looking at you guys) it does sadden me that twilight was luckiy enough to be a movie (and yes I do say luck as there are so many familiar stories for example Charlaine Harris's Sookie stackhouse series identical except the human has the mind reader powers (though True blood has much better character designs rather than creepy 140 odd boys perving after awkward teenage girls).

Twilight is also a bad role model (not that I expect anything from a teen fiction but come on if you're going to be as popular as the Harry potter series you need at least SOME decent morals). Not the "I am so akward I must please Edward as he is sooooo much better than me, men are ALL better than me" Bella at no point feels Edwards equal.

Besides Stephenie's new rules on science the fact that a stare from a boy can proceed to stopping a heart or even making it be audible for another character to hear (Carlisle at one point HEARS her heart from across the room?).

She has such lines as "the musical note hung in the silence" such dribble that I cannot even fathom to make sense of still I digress I did enjoy the book, I did enjoy the films and I did enjoy the sequels its too easy to pull apart this book which makes it even more enjoyable a well written book is one thing but something like Twilight so "marmite-ish" in its ways causes so much forum debates and just plain laughter at some of it's passages is something that will last a very long time indeed, still at least Stephenie didn't model Bella on herself and name her something like Meliane Styler, that would be a true crime ;)

This seems like an odd time to write a review for anything Twilight related don't you think? Maybe once the inevitably terrible fourth movie comes out it will be worth writing something.

My brain melts everytime I hear the word; 'twilight'
(2 seconds later) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHGGGHHG
Aside from tasteless humour(that I provide), keep on trying, and maybe, you'll start rivaling with the great man himself(yahtzee).

You have no understanding of what kind of hell I have to endure everyday(except on saturdays & sundays) @ school. I have to sit to twilight fangirls WHO NEVER shut the f*** up about twilight and I am seriously not joking when I say that I get a mild headache from that word.

Nice to see a decent analytical review of this vampire saga :) I don't like the constant hated it spawns because 1) it's getting a little tiring of hearings people's "reasons" and 2) those who don't like it won't have bothered to seen it anyway, nullifying any argument in step one.

hmm I suggest giving them a much BETTER teen fiction dark fantasy (as thats what twilight it) I mean Twilights good but it doesn't deserve it's publicity Classandra Chance, LJ Smith, PC.Cast could kick Meyers ass any day (I think Myer even struggles to spell correctly in her book...)

With an attitude like that, you wonder who has been brainwashed beyond all reasoning...
