...means a time of day and the light produced from the sun during it. But you probably instantly thought about the series, didn't you?[footnote]Although I bet some of the MLP community here will have a different response. ;P[/footnote] I'm putting up a poll just out of curiousity.

Now, for a question to give this thread a little meat:

What words now instantly set your mind onto a series (or individual title) instead of their orginal meaning?

Trek - Star Trek

Journey - The Indie game

Freelancer - My favorite game <.<

Tick - The animated series

Firefly - The cancelled series

Scorpion - The Fallout series (because of Radscorpions)

[sub]Will edit in as I think of more[/sub]

Do you have a list? Just a thread that popped into my head out of the blue.

Any time I hear the words Ted; Jack; Tea; Feck; Rabbits or anything to do with religion I instantly think of Father Ted and how much I loved that show.

There are so many.

Metal Gear?!?!

Oh. Every time I hear the word "scrubs" I tilt my head up to the side and get a joyous smile on my face, ending in a laugh and sometimes a quip such as "Hooch is crazy." a minute later that causes everyone around me to become incredibly confused.

"Fable" and "hedgehog", and occasionally if I'm starting a sentence with the word "wow" I'll accidentally type it as "WoW".

Boo! , for not including the most obvious poll option!

OT:
Whenever anyone says "Castle", I immediately think of Nathan Fillion.

This too needs to be an option:

That's what I think when I hear that word, and thank any and all imaginary friends you might have, because it could be a lot worse.

Actually when I hear Twilight I think of that Magic Tree House book series... one of the books was called Tigers at Twilight or something like that (every book had an alliteration as a title). I learned the word with that book. So it'll always be the first thing I think of.

Edit - oooh, here it is:

And the reason why I even clicked this.

While I do know and understand the true meaning of the word, twilight, yes, I did think of the series straight up when I saw this thread. Kind of like whenever I see the word pony, I think of that fucking plague on mankind kids show. Because it's everywhere on the net, it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it's out there and it absolutely will not stop, ever, until the internet is dead.

First thing I think of when I hear Twilight is the time of night. It can be a very beautiful time of day.

However when I hear anyone discussing it, I think about the vampire book. Mainly because 90% of the time thats what they are discussing. Most people who discuss anything relating to Twilight X(Zone, Princess, Sparkle, etc) will accompany that discussion with those words. Or at least context clues that give them away.

I've played hl1 when I was pretty young. So I've known Valve since I was a kid, long before I learned what the word "valve" actually means in English. Because of that, I always associate the word valve with the gaming company first.

The motion has been presented and seconded, do we have a quorum? Do we have a quorum? I don't think we have a quorum.
But I'd have voted for the Unicorn as well.

I used to read those when I was learning to read. That, the choose your own adventure series, and the Hardy boys were what I read until I moved up to classics and my lifelong love for Science Fiction books. Now I'm minoring in Literature in college.
