I've noticed that there are different types of comedy that different people like. If I hear one thing funny, I might think one of my friends would like it, but another friend might not, because it's not his type of comedy. Anyway, what's your favourite type of comedy?

Personally, I like random and idiotic, but observational is good too.

EDIT: I once saw a t-shirt that just said "pancakes". That's the kind of randomness that I find funny.

observation/Political is great, Lee Evans/George Carlin

I am not above admitting i like idiotic comedy as well, seeing as i find Family Guy and The Simpsons hilarious on occasion.

I like anything except that really dull comedy... I don't know what to call it. If you've ever seen the movie "Napoleon Dynamite," that pretty much embodies it. Observational can be funny, but rarely is. Political is more often than not a way to push an opinion as opposed to a form of comedy, but I guess can be funny if done right. I would say either random or sarcastic (like, satyrical stuff) is my favorite, but really mixing some of those categories together is what often yields the best result.

I've voted Political, but I do love Observational comedy.

I just finished watching the latest episode of "The Thick of It" which is a Satirical look at the British Civil Service...I've never heard so much swearing jammed into 60 seconds before in my life. Its sort of satirical, but also verges on idiotic with the ammount of incompetance, shouting and swearing that goes on. Perhaps that's why it's good satire...

I enjoy Mitch Hedberg. Alot. But his comedy falls into "word play", not idiotic or observational.

But since i also enjoy George Carlin, I voted Observational.

I like anti-humour. But if I had to pick any on this list it would be *ahem hem* idiotic and racial. Yes, I am rather lowbrow.

I like random comedy, but deep down in our souls, you know that racial comedy is funny too.

like this joke that my father told me recently about obama's presidency. (if you think you might get offended, then don't read it, because I cannot be blamed if I had warned you)

[spoiler/]people are saying that since Obama is in office, he is going to replace the rose garden with a watermelon patch[/spoiler]

we know that you are laughing

and it's okay

because as the people from avenue Q said:

"everyone is a little bit racist"

P.S. I have nothing against obama, except for the fact that he is a democrat, and he wants to take away my guns
