Am I the only one getting really fed up with logo screens in games? It's bloody obnoxious to fire up a game and then wait forever while a half dozen logos scroll by on the screen. It makes me nostalgic for the days you could add -nointro to the windows short cut, but I haven't seen that in ages, and there is no option like that on consoles, and worst of all the vast majority of them are unskipable, so you've got to sit through the damn things every time you fire up a game.

I swear if I see that bloody dragon on the Dragon Age splash screen on more time I'm going to throw something.

I kind of get why they are there, brand awareness, but honestly after the first few times it's just plain rude, and counter-productive, yes I know who made the game, but annoying me isn't good for repeat sales.

Generally most of them are skippable I find...

But also the developer worked hard making their game, they deserve a 5 second clip while it's booting up in my opinion...

Hate the bastards.

Unskippable intros are the reason that I gave up on some FF game I was going to play at my sisters house. I was sat there for what felt that TWENTY FUCKING MINUTES before the game went "Oh shit, right, yeah, YOU'RE in control!"

Hate them.

I don't mind "We won't like you skip it the first time, but, after that, sure thing!". But, "Oh, hey, just checking you remember it' us that makes it!... Will do next time!" every time you start the game is somewhat irritating.

It doesn't really bother me any more than the various studio and producer logos you see at the beginning of any given movie. These are the people who made the game, I'd say they've earned a little recognition. Besides, we all know most gamers skip the end credits, anyway, so making those logos unskippable is probably the only way they'll get any recognition.

Also, they're sometimes pretty cool to watch.

it should be skippable the second time.

during the first play-through I'm okay with there not being the option to skip.

They get to force me to sit through it once, after that if I can't skip it, they don't want me to be able to recognise them, because after I'm done with them their own mothers wont be able to

I've only experienced it on bad console ports. All other games I play allow me to skip the credits if I want to. I don't really mind, though. I'm in no rush when I play games, so the added 40 seconds don't mean much to me. Worse is it with bad music in unskippable scenes. That irks me.

Best game :)

Yeah, I'm pretty indifferent. I do think they should be skippable from second play onward

I don't mind splash screens. Agreed with Verlander, I liked Neversoft back then.

I can't abide unskippable playthrough sections though. Killed Oblivion & ME2 for me, damn intros.

Unskippable ANYTHING are a problem.

This is one of the few things I detest about the original Kingdom Hearts to the extent I can recite one particular cutscene in the middle of the game.

Amen to that. Reminds me of how I had to replay the entire end level from Mass Effect 2 half a dozen times, and the unskippable cutscenes made me want to tear my hair out.

But intro scenes are even worse. They really discourage me from loading up the game just so I can mess around for a few minutes. *glares at Beyond Good and Evil's intro*

I'm pretty indifferent. There's a few I might be annoyed by but I can't even think of them off the top of my head so obviously it hardly made enough of an impact on me.

I remember on Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, that if you didnt time your button press right you could not skip the ENTIRE intro scene. Thats the only time ive raged balls at intros.
