My girlfriend plays Gears of War 2 a lot, and I was thinking of giving her cog tags for Valentines day, is this weird? I think she would like it but I think it just might seem weird. What should I do?

You're the only one here who knows your girlfriend, so just do what feels right.

Get her something more expensive. Or find some way to burn vday to the ground so you won't be bothered with this nonsense.

It's a good idea, but also put a heart in the middle of one. Then it will be like "Awww...."
Ha ha, that's not a bad idea, even though I wouldn't know how I would do that.......

Get me some as well :D lol

If your going to buy her cog tags put something like special engraved on them I think
sort of personalises them a bit more than just COG tags :)

Do it! Unique Valentine's gifts are hard to come by, and you have a good idea for one right there.

Obviously, pair it with a cliched but nice rose and maybe some chocolates, but yeah, definitely go for it.

Just becuase she likes the game doesn't mean she'll want it for a V-day gift. Chicks tend to dig romantic stuff. Its a good idea for a birthday, maaybe not V-day.

Having said that everyone is different so maybe she would like it. Try dropping a hint?

Friend of mine's wife really loves Battlestar Galactica, so for their anniversary, he asked me if I thought he should get her customized Colonial Fleet dogtags (and himself a set to match), or if that was stupid. I'll tell you what I told him -- it's thoughtful, shows you pay attention to the things she likes, and it takes extra effort on your part. These are all things that make girls happy.

If your girl really loves Gears, I think she'd adore the COG tags. It's certainly far more creative than flowers and chocolates.

I'd do it. I mean I would get her flowers with it but damn, that's a good idea. And if she likes it, it means next year you can get her something even more crazy.

Go for it man, but don't cheap out. If you get them made out of silver or gold, then have them engraved professionally, I'm pretty sure she will love it. Do not go with aluminum and her misspelled name written in sharpie marker.

Nah, buy her diamond. She pretty much have to. ;-)
Ha ha, that's out of my price range though........ at least it made me laugh.
Can't take credit for it, it was used in a Family Guy episode. however, what hasn't been used in a Family Guy episode right?
instead of a gift, produce a memory. do something fun and unexpected. go roller skating. run a marathon. sled off of a rooftop (if you live near snow). rent a clown.

I knew it was from Family Guy, I just thought it fit perfectly in the discussion. And yes were near snow, we live in snow central aka Michigan.

Do it, but get her something else too.
Be it an armfull of roses and chocolates or some jewelery or maybe something less typical.

Cog tags might be enough but in case they are a little dissapointing you want to show that you went out of your way to do more then just ordering something and waiting for the postman.
And if she loves the tags, then the rest of it will only add to it.
