I'm a PC gamer first and foremost, but actually you can have a Wii or computer tower horizontally (But for what it's worth, my computer tower is upright, as God intended).

horizontal, i learned my lesson by knocking my xbox over and destroying my oblivion disk when it was verticle :'(

i actually bought a little ps2 vertical stand thing once because i thought it would be cool. within 3 days, i ran into my ps2 so hard, the plastic thing cracked into about 10 pieces. never put my system vertical again after that. ps3 slims are also pretty poorly gravitated for verticalness.
