This confused the hell out of me until like half a year ago. Here in Sweden we're very fuzzy with writing together words. Over here, it's the grammar nazis' favorite thing to ***** about, if a word refers to a singular object it needs to be written as one word or somebody is gonna notice and give you hell for it.
In English, it's apparently the other way around am I right? As I understand it you're never supposed to write together words...
