Can't add much to that, it all depends on the game. When you suddenly see Goomba's explode in GoW-ish (God of War or Gears of War, doesn't matter in this case) gore when Mario stomps them, then it's simply out of place and doesn't belong there. But in GoW itself it fits, and it's fine. It's a complex issue and, as I said, depends on the game in question.
As my friend pointed out, an industrial cutting laser could decapitate someone. Don't ruin people's fun, it's called 'being a fag'. What's not fun about decapitating people from miles away?KingGolem said:I for one think that the level of violence in video games is generally too high. I have always found rediculous amounts of violence presented in a serious way to be in exceedingly bad taste, like in Fallout 3. To me, it's really a flaw of presentation when you can shoot a guy in the head and either decapitate him or have his head explode in a shower of blood and fly off in all different directions. This is particularly jarring when it happens with a laser weapon. Come on! It's light, it has no mass!
