Have you ever been told that your favorite drink/food/singer/actor/ect has something horrible in it/done something horrible? If so, how did you react?

My experiance is when I really go into Energy Drinks and Sobe (the glass bottle ones). I would see what it had in it, and i saw on the label it had "Taurien." I thought, hey, it's got some fruit stuff in it. Couple weeks later, i was drinking one when my friend came up to me and asked "Hey, you know that has Taurien, right?" Yeah, i said, taking another swig. "That's bull semen, you know." The drink stopped halfway in my mouth, my eyes locked onto his to see any humour. He didn't have any, only drop-dead seriousness. I lowered the drink, thought for a sec, then went "Meh" and continued.

So, what's your story?

YES i know that Taurien or Taurine is not bull semen. i would find it disturbing if one of my threads is all about bull semen. That's for the next thread. :p

Yeah, i know. i found that fact out later. Knew he was kidding.
BUT what meant was did you ever eat or drink something and found out what it is (or could be) made of, and how you reacted to the situation (complete freak out or just passing disgust.)

I only don't go to McDonalds anymore out of spite... they said games make people fat (somewhere at some point). I can be very hard headed sometimes - like that time I swore I wasn't getting a 360 because the only reason I got the original Xbox was for Halo 2 and then they released the 360 very literally a year later. Yeah.

Sausages. I know they're filled with loads of disgusting animal products, but frankly, I don't give a damn. They're still delicious.

Well, I've put together the little puzzle for you that your friend used to prank you (this may seem like a stretch, but bare with me, it might make sense). You misread it. It's not "Taurien" it's "Taurine". So, I'm going to guess that your friend knows a little something about WoW. "Taurens" are giant bull people. If he knew this, he might think to himself "heheheh, here's an idea for a little laugh". So, he decided to say it was bull semen (though I'm probably stretching it a bit). "Taurine" is actually this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taurine

Either way, you, good sir, have been pranked. And your friend must have a good poker face.

I actually haven't had any situation like this, but if someone told me something along the lines of "bull semen" I'd look it up first and then, if it was true, I wouldn't be able to drink it... It'd have to be something extreme like that though.

EDIT: Ninja'd, times 10 -_-'

I remember I really liked fig newtons when I was young. Then I heard somewhere that hornets (or some kind of bug) lay their eggs in figs, and that some of them get processed into the fig newtons. I swore off them forever... but gave in not long after.

Taurine is not bull Semen. It is part of bile according to Wikipedia.

Edit:Anyways, on topic, as long as the taste is not absolutely terrible and the food isn't toxic I just figure that the ingredients are close enough.

Or, what could have happened is that he mistyped "Taurine" as "Taurien", but either way, the obvious root word "Taurus" is present, meaning "bull." So, maybe you have had a little too much time on WoW...

LOVE sausages. or any meat. I remember one time my teacher was talking about the 1900's and the new laws coming out for meat-packing places because they were being run in horrible conditions, like how they threw meat that fell on the floor back on the delivery truck or how they woudln't stop the process even if someone's finger got into it. And when she described how they put all bunches of extra animal parts in cans all i could think of was "Damn, i want something to eat." fun times in history class..

I wouldn't care as long as the given surprising ingredient is vegetarian suitable.
as for the bull semen,I think it would be rather expensive,I personally do not know any good bull semen farms(does anyone know A bull semen farm?)

Blame a friend of mine... I couldn't avoid him today, and he wouldn't stop talking about it, so I have it on the mind today. I love WoW, but I don't like to talk about it so much >.<

It makes me sick just looking at it.
Silly meatsack, Tapioca is made out of tapioca flour and milk.
Oh thank God.
I think my sister told me that it was.
I'm going to correct her now.

Knowledge=pain. You can enjoy your tasty meal carefree, until someone comes in and tells you it´s made of dead babies and your mum. Thinking about all the stuff we put in our mouth makes us also believe that the food´s taste spontaniously changes. I´m emotionally so dull that there´s not much I wouldn´t eat (I say this until someone comes in and offers me my mum on a spit.)
