>My face when not once did the OP state the words "WoW killer", yet everyone assumes him to have done.
>Mfw all he wanted were people's opinions on the game.

Jesus fuck.

At any rate, I cannot abide MMOs yet I am genuinely excited for Dark Millennium and it is certainly something I will at least try.
Considering 40k has such a significant fanbase, it'll definitely see a lot of love on launch, whether it becomes anything special in the world of MMOs is rather dependant on whether or not it can actually keep the interest of the 40k fanbase.

Also, there are fucking Titans man.

SUFFER NOT THE UNCLEAN TO LIVE.

Cannot resist a good "FOR THE EMPEROR!" shout.

WH could beat WoW, but again with the issue: WoW has a huge playerbase, WH would have to pull a McGiver to get a bigger playerbase.

I guess WoW will only die of old age. Then, only then, other MMO's will have a fighting chance, against each other, or against the newest tyrant (WH, cough cough).

The only thing that can kill WoW is WoW. Besides, it's entirely possible that Blizzard already have scrapped WoW by the time DMO comes out. Bear in mind that their new MMO, dubbed "Titan" will not launch until WoW is either shut down, or goes F2P, people aren't willing to pay for two MMOs and Blizzard knows that.

Either way I except a lot of old WoW player to switch to something else, since WoW in it's base form still is exactly the same as when it launched. More refined yes, but there have not been an revolutions. The frakkin' thing is still running on a hilariously badly optimized modified Warcraft 3 engine. At most I expect it to be one additional expansion.
Not that it will die completely, it could go F2P, or at the very least there will still be private servers.

In any case I'm not really sure WoW and DMO would compete for the same crow, seeing as the developers have expressed a wish to move away from the traditional MMO-formula that WoW made popular.

Edit: FOR TEH EMPERAH!

WoW has absolutely nothing to worry about. That's not an option in the poll, so I didn't vote. I would love for 40k to do well, but it won't happen.

I played WoW for years but had to quit because I just didn't have the time to dedicate to it anymore. Plus, my backlog of other games was getting out of hand. I figured I would go back to it at some point. Still haven't gone back but Cataclysm really made me consider it.

I love the Warhammer 40k universe and I have all the RTS games but man do I stink playing vs real people. I wish they had the Necrons in 40k 2 and I hope they put them in this MMO. I want to crush the galaxy with my undead space terminator!

Although WoW has nothing to worry about from Warhammer. I think Old Republic is just about the only thing that was a chance to steal some of their player base.

All I can say is that hope it is decent. And what about the Eldar are we to forget about them? Foolish Mon'Keigh...
