Poll: Warhammer 40k Tabletop: Favorite Race

So my buddies and I are getting into the 40k tabletop game pretty hard, and we all chose different races off the bat without the "he chose those guys, so I'm gonna be these!" process.

So which race would/do you play and why?

I favor Tyranid for sheer overwhelming force and fearsome melee units. My Space Marine buddy admitted that after wiping out half my army, the crazy numbers I still had on the field made him feel hopeless and overrun, even though he had the upper hand.

I too was a Tyranid player.

Homoganuts and Termagaunts + Without number = Happy days!

That and I had 3 Carinfex, all rending claws all the way.

Guess I enjoy getting close to my enemies.

On topic: Space Wolves and the Inquisition, specifically the Adepta Sororitas. Enemies of the Imperium of Man all deserve to burn in the purifying flames of the Holy Inquisition.

Heh, my marine buddy refers to me and my Tau buddy as "the filthy zenos".

They're smart and they do a hell of a lot of damage considering their numbers and gear.

Seriously, put Humans, 'Nids, all the races in a VERY big room and Tau would be like...less than a hundredth of one percent.

AHHA! Thanks. Figured I was missing something, and I am inclined to blame little sleep, 2:30am, and a fully work day behind me... but that would require too much work.

Tau! They are the underdog, just coming into the WH40k universe. They don't understand half the stuff that's going on around them, just figuring things out as they go along. But they have big guns, big battlesuits and one hell of a ideology. In fact, theirs is likely the most benevolent agenda in the universe at the moment, seeing as they are the only race that doesn't consider genocide to be an integral part of warfare. Also, did I mention the really big guns?

Sisters of Battle. I collect and paint more than I actually play and I love the models and the background.

Runners up would be the Tau, whom I like because for some reason they remind me of the Culture, from the Iain M Banks novels.
