OK for anyone out side australian this may not make sense... but to those in the know im asking in this poll.

Did you think the Chasers Skit about "make a realistic Wish" did you think it was funny

for those who dont know here is the chaser mainpage
http://www.abc.net.au/tv/chaser/#/home/

and just one news thingy i found about it
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/06/04/2589089.htm

there are tons of news things bashing them there not that hard to find..

but my question still stands was it funny,
they do black humour thats the whole point its ment to be dark.

Fimaly guy made fun of the Fundation in the Episode were peter trys to get Grumble 2 Grumble back on the air and they didnt get that much flak..

P.S.
explain why you voted the way you did but i dont want to see people just typing about how they love/hate the chaser stay on the issue...

OH and i thought it was funny.. But i can see why peple may get angry

Sounds preferable to me. I don't even know what this show is, but that line makes me laugh.

What episode/minute is it in? I skipped through the most recent one but I didn't find it. I'm curious to see what the fuss is about but I don't really have time to watch them all at the moment.

Haha I knew this was going to come up. Honestly I think people are way to uptight. I laughed my arse off at this sketch and so did the whole studio audience. Those guys are brilliant, there was nothing wrong with it, people need to understand that its a fucking joke. Get the fuck over it and spend your time on things worth while! It's like a school making a big deal over uniform, don't you have better, more important things to spend your time on? Kevin Rudd came out and said his bit, What a pure waste of time! GET THE FUCK OVER IT! ITS A JOKE!

I swear i replied to a thread like this last night.
This has already been a topic which someone had brought up.

but... to stay on topic, they're skits are hilarious and are made to go over the line, if they didn't they wouldn't be half as good as they are. Never take em seriously or for offense, what i say.

Sad part is for anyone outside Australia for whom this doesn't make sense... you don't know what you're missing out on :p

Anyone with the balls to fly a blimp over the Vatican with "Young boys inside, pull down if you want one." with a rope attached to the bottom, will always get my vote.

Don't get me wrong it was funny. But I think making fun of children in a hospital was crossing a line even for these guys.

Go make fun of cancer kids running around at a camp or something, but not in a distressing place like a goddamned hospital.

I knew this would show up eventually.

Firstly, most of what's riling everyone up is teh idea that "THEY WERE MAKING FUN OF DYING KIDS!! THAT'S HORRIBLE HOW DARE THEY DO SUCH A THING FFFFFUUUUUUUUU" etc etc.

Wrawng. They were making fun of the Make A Wish Foundation, which I think is warranted. It's a lovely idea. Shame it's stupid. What the skit was is called "satire", and there's no problem with it whatsoever.

I haven't seen this sort of carry on about the segment right after that, where one of the Chaser boys went to the UK and tried to rent out rooms in Buckingham Palace, blatantly making fun of the Queen and her need for "more allowance".

I laughed my ass off at the "You want to meet Zack Effron? Well how about you have this nice stick instead" line, and I don't care who knows it.
I voted yes (it's funny) for pretty much this.

And I don't see why people are getting angry. Most people who watch the show would find that funny or, if not, would at least know that it is not poking fun at the kids. The people who are getting angry are the ones that don't watch it but see something in the news saying "Chaser makes fun of dying children" and form their opinion on that and that alone.

Sorry for double post, but you won't see it any more. ABC (the broadcaster of the show for those that don't know) pulled the skit from any replay's on TV or online after all the QQ.

It was funny, albeit tasteless. I can see why people would get mad, but they were really poking fun of the Make A Wish Foundation.

And wasn't this thread made yesterday? Because I'm getting a sense of deja vu when posting this.

Yes i beleive that it was ok to do, i have nseen various shows where they have said that the wishes were to extravigant, all the cahses did was say that "they re going to die soon" so no, i was thinking why is there not so much uproar about the Inbreedy bunch, that was one i expected to get more complaints

The Chaser did nothing wrong, very simple. They found something to do, they did it, a lot of people laughed. As said in South Park, either everything is okay to make fun of, or nothing is, because if something isn't allowed to have jokes made about it, that line will be taken further until nothing is okay.

One father had to console his young child who was terminally ill, after they watched the skit? Stiff shit, the kid shouldn't have been watching it.

The Chaser is the best form of comedy this country has going for it, everything else has given into the nanny state bullshit so they should go right ahead and rattle a few more conservative cages.

I also just finished watching the episode on the website and they even had a parody of this sort of complaining with their inbredy bunch sketch.

I didn't really find it funny, but anyone who makes fun of the "Make a wish foundation" is okay in my book.
