WASD, All of the other keys for reloading, changing weapon, flashlight, open doors etc, crouch, walk, prone and EVERYTHING else and be reached while you are moving, if you use the arrow keys reaching the space bar to jump isn't the easiest of tasks.
Mine rests on shift naturally, which I often rebind to crouch cause I understand standing there firing in FPS is just stupid when you want to hide behind cover and most games have shift bound to sprint with the further away control being the crouch button. Even when typing it rests on shift, but then all my fingers 'run' across the keyboard, never really was one for that while asdf jkl; set up.corroded said:No. Your pinky rests on 'A.'
Meh. My wrist is supported well. Keyboard is usually on my lap...And my fingers are usually curved a bit instead of straight up or straight out.corroded said:You must use it nearly vertical, and not wishing to sound too much like the HSE but that's not going to be good in the long term!Valiance said:No. Your pinky rests on 'A.'corroded said:I don't see the point of using ESDF unless you've actually broken you W key!
End of, no one really uses keys that are hard to reach. And your little finger now rests on the Windows key, AKA That Key That Boots You Out And Gets You Killed (Unless you have one that can lock it, or have prised the little fucker off).
Got the same amount of useful keys around, in the immediate vicinity also, and maybe now A... but that's not exactly an easy key to reach, much like X on WASD... merely annoying.
At least when I do it, it's my combat stance anyway. Maybe on shift now and then, or maybe it's just my hand, but keeping it on 'A' is natural for me.
for me it was the day i installed the half life : uplink demo.sycotik said:I used to be a devout arrow key user, until suddenly and without explaination a few years ago, I switched to WASD and have not looked back.
