this is 35 books total meaning 105$ (at least) taken away from my wallet forever :p

anyhow what do you think will this taint the legacy of watchmen or will it do justice with the fans hungry for more watchmen?

This is the worst idea ever.

If they actualy do this I will never be buying anything from DC ever again.

Ah, ok, so you have the original comics, some 20 years later they make a movie (and everone only remembers it for the big blue penis).

Then they get a bunch of different writers to make up a bunch of prequels.

...

The diehard fans will go and by the comics anyway, despite knowing how much they are going to utterly, utterly suck.

Alan Moore will use the magical power of his beard to sacrifice all of DC to his snake god.

[sub]Which is a story I would read, unlike this unecessary cash-in rubbish.[/sub]

I figured I'd wait for a review or something before I go into rage mode, but then I realized that just means I'm not a true comic book fan. So instead I'm just going to completely lose my mind, because these new comics that no one is forcing me to buy will completely ruin a book I've already read somehow. There will be so many angry tweets.

I'm interested, considering how pointless this is.
The original needed no prequel, or sequel. Everything we needed to know was explained beautifully, and anything else would've been too much.
If this is a cash-in to the film, poor job. They're 3 years too late.

I'll remain cautiously optimistic, however I highly doubt it will have nowhere near the significance or meaning of the original without Moore.

Danm ninja I was going to make a thread on this until I saw this.

OT- I'm somewhat indifferent toward this.
By all mean I understand people hating it due to it being somewhat like Star Wars in that it start of small but once they expand on it, it become crap.
However I can assume this won't fully be a quick cash in as they will hire proper professional and talented people to make the comics drawing and scripts.

My clean crime record here at the forums is the only reason that I'm not posting the word "Shit" one hundred times. Because I don't really care that Brian Azzarello wrote 100 Bullets, Joker, Luthor and some Hellblazer, or that J. Michael Straczynski wrote some great Spider-Man and also Rising Stars, which in my opinion is one of the five greatest super-hero comics ever. I'm not even goin to start my long explanation of how you can't choose Lee Bermejo just because his art is good and he's worked with Azzarello before. Because I'd just like to say that the only thing that's keeping me from enraged ax-fury right now is my medication. And that's a lie, actually; my medication isn't helping. Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit...

Ugh. I hate Alan Moore. I hate his stupid beard, and his ridiculous persona, and his bitchy prima donna attitude. But this is awful. That's his book. Those are his characters. Leave it the fuck alone.

I'm not too fussed about whether Moore is upset or not. As previously stated, I really don't like the guy. I'd just rather the book be left alone. I don't need more Watchmen. The story is over. Leave it alone.
