I stopped using Norton Antivirus when my Windows computer crashed and the Official Install Disc refused to Install. So I switched to AVG which was pretty good until I got a Mac laptop and now I use nothing. McAfee is installed on my work computer - not my choice - but it seems to get a lot of false-positives.

I had AVG for a wile, then my World of Warcraft account got hacked, and I spent the next week getting it back, along with dropping AVG and getting McAfee back. So yeah, McAfee all the way.

why is Avast! antivirus not on this list?! It's the only pseudo-pirate based antivirus on the market! now, if only there was a good pseudo-ninja based antivirus...

Pfft, all those newb programs, MEN use Avast, get a little scurvy with every scan.

Course, if I could find a free AVG again, I'd probably use that, but last I checked they started charging for their software.

AVG, and Spybot, with CCleaner to mop up everything else.
I have exactly the same setup, plus ZoneAlarm as firewall, but that's a different thing...

And I have to say that Norton is cumbersome and slightly evil, and McAfee is pure malware...

I use MSE.

AVG kept crashing and generally acting weird, so I got rid of it.

Avast! Clearly the best free anti-virus out there!

I use Norton 360 and it's bloody brilliant. Plenty of viruses have made it to my PC and yet I've never had any problems, because Norton always sorts them out ASAP. The only virus that has ever got past it, for me at least, was that one where it tries to imitate Vista's own security, which I got rid of by simply doing a System Restore back to a point set about an hour before the virus turned up :D.

Windows Security Essentials, never done anything wrong for me... Though it's Windows, only a matter of time.

I must say, the Antivirus 2010 software that appeared on my computer last year had to be my favorite. It would always inform me if a million viruses all decided to attack my computer all at the same time, which apparently happened quite often, and how it would simulate the blue screen of death to make me realize just how bad of a problem my computer had. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the full version that it would keep telling me to buy every time it did a virus scan, so I had to take it off my computer fully with a metaphorical sledgehammer and my brother who is a computer engineer.
