I won't bore you with the details, but I've recently been wondering this, and since i've been lurking around here, i've noticed you all seem like an active honest bunch; see topic.
my brief thoughts on the subject.

practical experience would benefit you now, and would most likely provide opportunities for unique experiences. but wouldn't it's value degrade over time? near the end, it might not add up to much at all. then again, maybe it would all be worth it.

sentimental experience isn't that useful, but supports the stability of subsequent experiences for you and anyone else whom might be involved. most likely each instance of this will be completely forgotten over time. but then again... some people live for 'these moments' so maybe there is something there too.

positive experiences are just that. it's better to be happy than sad right? joy is definatly not something to be overlooked. i don't think anyone would think a life filled with positive experiences would have been a wasted one. then again... oversaturation could have such unfortunate consequences including but not limited to a lack of drive/motivation, idleness, and apathy.

negative experience. negative experiences can reinforce the fighting spirit, or give someone a reason to become stronger for themselves or others. it can give someone purpose. and it's a core component of transmuting naivety into wisdom. Any event that gets your addrenaline pumping can also be an example of negative experience. of course, there's obviously some huge drawbacks to a life filled with this kind of experience, and it's not out of the question that these drawbacks can outweight the benefits.

An experience that you learn something from.

That's why people hurry to escape drudgery. Emotional or Practical.

Something that when you walk away from it you are in some way, no matter how significantly or for how long, you are different from before that experience.

You kinda answered your own question from my standpoint. Each kind has its own benefits and drawbacks, and they complement each other.

A negative experience that you are able to turn into a positive one makes the positive one all the more rewarding, right?

Sentimental experience can help you find your way through a negative experience that may be otherwise insurmountable.

Practical experience can, as you said, lead to opportunities that would open the way for more of the other kinds of experiences.

So yeah, I say a balance.

A Negative Sentimental experience (Combination of two) Can be particularly devastating, but after you live it out you tend to become stronger, and have a better outlook on life. It also helps you put things on perspective.

But a positive sentimental experience is what I consider the most valuable. These are the ones you will remember twenty years down the line, and think "That was so fun." Humans live off these experiences, and without them it would be worthless to keep on living.

Well, my preferred kind of experiences are ones which will aid you in fulfilling ones personal ambitions later on in life, as well as more sentimental ones where you learn something about yourself as a person which you can in turn utilize.

I forgot to add my own answer to the question after giving my thoughts on the different types o.o;;.
anyway, i find a balanace of positive and negative experiences to be the most valuable.(combination of 2) personaly i prefer experiences that are beyond my control, and these both fit in this catagory and are both benficial for thier own reasons. i consider practical and sentimental experience to be more the product of 'will exertion' than circumstantial, and less attractive.
