Actually, I should ask IF you stop the insanity, and THEN what you do about it. But yes, I put it to you...

Escapists...what do YOU do to stop the insanity?

The idea's simple. For some reason or another, you're wired, you're stressed, or you're really going out of your mind. So, what is it that gets you like this, and what do ya do you stop it? Or hey, do ya just go wild? And if so, how so? Tell me a story!

I'm startlingly calm when under astounding amounts of stress, and there's a simple reason why:

When you've been through the shit I've been through, nothing fazes you anymore---it becomes impossible to lose the sense of perspective.

Drawing really gets the crazy out... unless you draw expressions , and the same expressions end up on your face.

On-lookers then tend to get... well, nervous to say the least.

Or I go impale people, on video games.

When I'm that fed up. I just do something really impulsive. Like eat a whole can of whipped cream..

I felt really sick afterwards, which distracted me for a while, good stuff. ^^

Those who suffer from sanity have no clue how much fun it is to be insane. Please seek the nearest brick wall if you wish to become insane as soon as possiable.

I rarely get that worked up about something - when I do, it's probably because of some really frustrating section of a video game I'm trying to beat on the hardest difficulty; at that point, I either punch walls, or listen to Pink Floyd; they both manage to mellow me out.

I am always calm, mainly because I'm too lazy to get worked up about anything. I don't get angry, irritated sometimes, but never angry.

Well, I didn't say it had to be out of irritation. You could be on a caffiene high! So...no? Never?

I'm usually good at keeping my cool, but if something really (and I mean REALLY) gets under my skin, I usually break something before I calm down.

It would take a caffine high to get me motivated to do anything. But in answer to your question I am use complete lack of motivation to fight insanity. Not quiet sure how, it just works.

I kill homeless dogs and I know you think I'm crazy but they are a real problem in my country because the government dosen't do anything about them so every time i feel like playing a violent video game while listening to some death metal is not going to help I go get a brick

It's strange, I've got that to. I do freak out, mind you, but usually over little things. It usually stays with the quiet riot, like yesterday when I had to do a certain part in MW2 over and over again for 2 solid hours. I barely made a sound, but I swore and screamed in my head and had a véry large urge to throw the controller through the room.

However, when shit really hits the fan, I, like you, stay startlingly calm, to the point of seeming to be emotionless. Most recent example is when an ex of a female friend of mine wanted to commit suicide and she called me up in tears begging for help. In retrospective, I was like friggin' Jack Bauer or something, and while I was just going through my regular business (taking shower, getting ready for bed, etc), I made sure my mum and dad didn't notice I was stopping someone from committing suicide. I became a little scared of myself after that, but a bit proud too.

Make no mistake about it though...once I get a few moments when nobody's looking I completely fall apart. I'm tough as nails, but I'm not like Lt. Cmdr. Data or something, y'know?

Oh I'm just truly icecold like that in emergency situations as well, but for some reason I just can't break down emotionally, it's like some mental blockade is in the way of expressing emotions, especially heavy ones. I can't cry as well, choking up is as far as I go and a tear rolling on my cheek equals a regular person crying his lungs out. You can barely see it if I'm suffering emotionally, even when I'm alone I just can't do it.

Why? No idea. Too many setbacks perhaps, too many times getting hurt, pulled up a brick wall around me I can't smash out myself anymore. I hope someone can help me break it down, I think I know who could do that, but it'll have to wait a while. I'll just be patient.

When I am really stressed out, I get irritated at every little thing and curse a lot (provided no one is around to hear). I get up and pace a lot. Then I sit down, take a few deep breaths and try to do something about what's stressing me out. Or I click on things really fast, darting between websites faster than my connection can bring them to me.

Essentially I go into a manic mode, which eventually mellows out to a calm before I explode.
