Well I play on the PC for anything I can get, as you have by far the buggest range of control styles there.

What I prefer to use depends on the game, some games I even prefer to use multiple methods as the situation demands. GTA 4 for example I use mouse and keyboard on foot, and pad to drive.

RTS (indeed stratagy games ibn geeral), FPS, MMO, most RPGs mouse and keyboard.

Platformers, most sports games (apart from management), 3rd person games with less shooting (AC2 for example) pad.

Racing games Pad or wheel depending on the game (in general wheel, mario kart like games pad.

Flight sims, joystick.

Party games; whatever its desinged for.

depends on the game, but I voted mouse/keyboard since that's what I'd miss most. Mouse/keyboard can stand in for a controller but it doesnt work the other way around.

I'll add that solo, multi system or online MP if you have a decent PC, and a gamepad, the PC can do anything a consle (ignoring wii motion controls)can, as long as the games avaliable.

The only time a console is bona fida better is when you have mates round, as its generally easier to have em gather round in the lounge, and single system gaming is usually better ona console.

I prefer the keyboard and mouse mainly for the extra control and precision you get from using them. But I haven't got any beef with controllers and they can be more comfortable because then you can lie down on a sofa and play instead of sitting ramrod stiff in a chair for hours on end.

Beef, what a fantastic word. Now I'm hungry.

Depends on the game. Mouse and keyboard for RTS/RPG, controller for everything else. I can't play FPS games with a keyboard anymore since I always try to strafe with Q + E (like in Guild Wars)...

I personally prefer a console w/ a controller because I've never been able to really grasp how to play games on computers because I hate having to use keyboards to control the game because the keys are too spread out and I've never played any computer games that use controllers.

In theroy it sounds easy, and probably is. I am stupid when it comes to working with my computer. My brother tried to attach it to the TV. He ended up blowing up the computer which will now cost £60-£70 to fix. He is supposedly better than me at those things. Better not to risk it, or ask my dad nicely.

My chair is fine and very comfortable, swivels in every postible way and was probably made from the fur of honey badgers but I think it's my back that causes the problems when I'm sitting too long. That's why I prefer lying on a sofa. More room to streach and move about.

I kinda like controller more if I'm just chilling, since it's easier to lean back, relax and just play with it. If I'm playing seriously (competetive gaming in general), I prefer keyboard/mouse since it feels like a far more refined tool to me (more accuracy in general no matter what games I play).

Console controller, mainly due to the fact I haven't really adapted to using a key-board mouse for PC gaming and I've been using controllers for 12 years.

I like watching people playing PC games with key-board mouse combos as they seem to have the reflexes of a cat that has trained for years as a ninja. Just thought I'd add that so my answer is a bit more fleshed out.

I much prefer a keyboard and mouse for FPS games and RTS games but I quite enjoy using a 360 pad on my PC for 3rd person action games e.g. Prince of Persia and Batman Arkham Asylum

Computer, keyboard and mouse, for me. Learning and customizing the key binding of the game is part of my ritual. I'm also a sucker for that 1-0 hotkey formation.

Depends on the genre.

RTS', SRPGs and FPS' all work better on a keyboard and mouse.
All the others I prefer a controller for.

Overall I'd go with controller.

I am a man of all platforms and therefore a man of all controllers....although when I first got my Xbox360 and PS3 it was tough to get used to the controller after playing PC most my life....but once I got used to each, I enjoy each for different things

im fine with everything, although i do lean towards controllers because they are built for comfort and i can move around and do what i want to just relax, but computer is good for speed and accuracy when needed, its just not comfortable to me, thats my only downfall on it

sometimes depends on genre's, but mostly i will deal with w/e
