so i came across this video on youtube and i started wondering. is it fake or real? and what do you think of it?

I'm not going to say that it couldn't possibly be real, but I'm going to put my bet in the "no, it's not real" category. That's just a little bit more of an over-reaction than I'm ready to believe. If it is real, then that guy probably has a psychological disorder of some sort, something which puts him on the edge, and if that's the case then that's really kind of disgusting that they'd do that to him.

I've seen this video before, and while funny as hell, could easily be faked. The reason for that is, take a closer look at the monitor when it meets its...unlikely end. notice that it doesn't even move an inch?

A friend of mine countered that maybe because the gentlemen in the video rammed his fist through the monitor so fast, it wouldn't move at all.

I remain skeptical. In my opinion, if you were to punch a flat screen monitor that hard, it would at least move the base of the monitor a couple inches.

I'm guessing it's not. It's a bit too over dramatic and after punching many monitors in moments of rage NONE stay completely still while a fist is hitting it.

The reason I say fake is that I'm pretty sure it was from Saturday Night Live. Reasons I think that is because A) Theres audience laughter at the end. B) the tags say SNL and Saturday Night Live. and C) theres a commenter saying that it was a skit from SNL.

I doubt it's real. The way he just falcon punches the monitor seems crazy. I can believe everything but the monitor punch. He doesn't seem to puch out of fear. It seems to controlled. I actually find that to be the funny part.

no its not real that guy is far too much of a wuss and that monitor is far to stable to not fall over or move when he punched also he is too strong to if he was able to punch out the back and its empty on the inside its jyst a bit of black glass or something
i wasn't sure when i hit the poll but as i thought about it the more it was fake and a bad fake at that it wasn't funny at all either

Yeah, I have to agree. This is faked.

But you're also right. It's funny as hell. I didn't expect the hand to fly through the monitor like that but I know the feeling.

well I grew up in a school for disabled kids, from ages 2-18 I went to school there but in that time I knew quite a few people who (I think) would and one who actually did react to stuff like that (I have Cerebal Paulsey by the way which is why the disabled school just so you don't go thinking I'm some sort of...well...one of them...if you know what I mean

EDIT although upon further inspection the gung-ho "never surrender to the fist" monitor stand does kinda make me think it is fake after all, although I know real people that would do that

If it was faked he was sure committed to it.
I think it was real. I had the same reaction when it happened to me.
I mean I didn't punch my screen but everything else was spot on.
I didn't get filmed though.

It's rather uncanny, it feels very staged with the said events happening and the camera goes so smoothly around the room.
