Hello there! General lurker over here.

I'm in need of some advice and I thought who better to consult than the Escapist Gaming Community? I don't know. Feel free to answer my rhetorical question in the comments below!

Okay my question is which out of the following games should I play next in your gaming opinion?

1. The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition
2. Darksiders 1 (and then 2)
3. Sleeping Dogs

I'm currently just finishing up my run of Resident Evil 4 and am wondering where to from here. Any advice or thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Regards

Haven't played any of them, but Sleeping Dogs seems great if you have a GTA itch. I'm currently playing Civ 5 and replaying the Fatal Frame series on several consoles.

I found the Darksiders games to be pretty meh (second one is better though). I would avoid them unless you can get them cheap.

Sleeping Dogs, judging by the couple of hours that I've played. is pretty fun. It's basically a GTA type game with brawling a la Arkham City (although not as good or well animated).

Witcher 2 is well regarded.

I'm personally going to play Sleeping Dogs, because I loved the "Streets of" series it's based on. Though I've read several reviews on that and Darksiders 2, and Darksiders 2 looks like the better game on it's own.

Darksiders deserves more attention than it got. It's a really good game, you should try it out.

Aside from RE4, what types of games do you enjoy? and also what platform do you game on the most?

Just from the list you gave, I would recommend Darksiders. The first one I found to be pretty fun, as well between being a bit older it's a cheaper game if it turns out you are not interested. I think there is a demo available on the PSStore.

I'm in to pretty much any genre or type as long as it's enjoyable. E.g. Racing, horror, FPS, open-world, RPG, strategy, tactical and so on. Sorry that it doesn't help much, ha ha.

I currently play my Playstation 3 the most, but that changes between it and the Xbox 360. I currently own the Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition (Xbox 360) and have easy access to both Darksiders 1 and 2 (without spending money on them). Sleeping Dogs I don't own but was going to buy shortly anyway as I've checked it out and like it (same for other three games however). I really enjoyed Mafia 2 and it seems to be of a similar vein to that and Saints Row: TT which I also liked.

The games I currently own (I only actually keep games I really enjoy, any others I sell after completion).

Xbox 360:
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition (haven't played)
Modern Warfare 2
Assassin's Creed 1,2

Playstation 3:
Max Payne 3
Mass Effect 3
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
Devil May Cry HD Collection
SSX
Dark Souls
Demon's Souls
Infamous 2
Battlefield 3
Spec Ops: The Line

Also a big thanks to everyone else who has replied so far. It's greatly appreciated.

I haven't played Sleep Dogs yet, but I would suggest the Witcher 2. It is an excellent game that I was hooked on from start to finish. It has some very interesting characters and a great story.

Also while in recent memory of WRPGs I have played it has some pretty good combat. I think the combat in the game is much better than Skyrim, while not quite as good as Kingdoms of Amalur.

Havent tried any of them so I dont know but if it was me I would be trying The Witcher 2 as it holds more appeal to me than the others.

Darksiders!!!!! I loved the first one. Kinda pissed off with the second and all the damned codes (but I haven't actually played the game yet). I haven't played Sleeping Dogs and I didn't feel the love with the Witcher. So much dialogue that I didn't care about (because I didn't play the first one) with a plain battle system.

I'd got for Darksiders. Haven't played the other games in the list, so I can't really recommend them. Had tons of fun with Darksiders though!

Gotta play it again soon myself...

Witcher 2 requires a LOT of time investment. Go for Sleeping Dogs if you don't have several hours to spare.

Kinda depends on what you like to play, since all 3 games are very different.

The Witcher 2 is a very long, slightly obtuse (though I hear they fixed that to some extent with the new version/free dlc thing) RPG, difficult and slightly repetitive combat, but a fairly immersive world, nice visuals and generally overall good mechanics. It's much less accessible than, say Skyrim, and some people like that, some don't.

Darksiders 1 & 2 are a lot like the old Soul Reaver games, especially the first and 2nd games. God of war-ish combat, some degree of open world and exploration, some RPG elements. I found the first game to be fairly boring and what little I played of the 2nd is basically an overall upgrade on every level while keeping the same structure.

If you like God of War/ Prince of Persia / Soul Reaver games, you will most likely like the 2nd (and maybe first) Darksiders.

Don't know about Sleeping Dogs, only what I've seen online, and it pretty much looks like GTA style open world with some interesting faction mechanics. If open world GTA / Saints Row games are your cup of tea, go for Sleeping Dogs.

Witcher 2, if you are ready for some serious adult stuff, this game does not mess around with slightly dark teen drama, shit gets real in those games.

Darksiders, for some great hack&slash adventuring, it's pretty much a current gen Zelda, which is by no means a bad thing.

Sleeping Dogs, is simply described GTA: Hong Kong, if you like GTA games then this is a no brainer.

I say get them all because they are great games, just decide what you feel peckish for right now.

I'm playing the official english release of La-Mulana, because I'm awesome like that. I played the freeware version a long time ago. The remake is just as difficult so far.

EDIT: Witcher 2 out of your options. It's brilliant.

I'm enjoying The Witcher 2,
it's not THAT BAD if you don't have a lot of free time. I don't have much free time and I manage it.
I will say it's a very mature game, if you're sensitive to that stuff play Darksiders instead.
Personally I'm having much more fun with The Witcher than I did with Darksiders.

Also, admitting that you lurk is the first step toward no longer lurking.
