I'd take the superpowers, and kill all the government officials and flee to the moon house I had made in case that kind of thing ever happened (or used my new powers to construct the house there in 3 seconds flat). I win, I get family and friends and superpowers! And a house on the moon.

'Fraid I just have too much to live for to become a nonperson in exchange for huge piles of cash. 'Sides, that cash could only do so much for me. Sure, I buy a huge house with a heated pool and all that... But what after that? I love video games, and since games are mostly connected these days, I assume buying them would count as "seeing my friends" and thus be ruled out.

Continue to be a poor gamer or become a super-rich nongamer? Such a silly question.

And now, if I may nerd out for a moment, this scenario is shockingly similar to that of Kal Skirata, one of the characters from the Star Wars: Republic Commando novels. He's asked to train Jango's top secret army of clones to fight like no human, Jedi or droid ever could in exchange for more credits than he could ever spend in his lifetime. The catch? He leaves everything behind. To everyone outside the military, he is dead.

Nope. Couldn't leave my family behind for anything.

Also, superhuman experiments can go bad, we only hear about the ones that go right (or at least mostly go right).

Who cares how much money if there's no one to spend it on/with? Also, would you have time to spend it anyway?

Also big risk of death.

If I they asked me when I was 19 I would have said yes. At 34 I have to say no.

Well just take a look at Prototype and you'll see what happens with all these superhuman experiments

I'd do it. Then after getting my powers betray the government, start my evil organisation and dominate the world!

Is there any reason I couldn't use my superhuman powers to get away and see my family and friends again?
Thinking outside the box. Nice.

OT: If I had no friends and family that really mattered to me, then yes.
But seeing as I do...no.

I don't care about superhuman powers or any of that nonsense, the most important people to me are my family and friends.

I would do it, then turn on them once I am fully trained and equipped with the stereotypical power-armor which will allow me to escape and see my family and friends again...then go on epic adventures as the government tries to hunt me down and kill me....sounds like a good movie.
