US Marine since most long range weapons a near useless for self defence what with the stress and what not. The rubber chicken would probably startle the offenders until the marine can get close enough and whoop some ass.

Well, this is one of the more interesting versus threads I've ever stumbled onto... two points for creativity.

OT: Can I just choose the chicken?

I'd pick the marine. You don't know what kind of un-godly fury that marine could release.

I choose a thuggish US Marine with the assault rifle.

I assume the rubber chicken's defensive potential is about the same as bare fists.

The marine with the chicken of course.

I imagine there are many different ways to kill a man with a rubber bird, especially when said synthetic poultry is in the hands of a mean green killin' machine :D

I'd choose a US Marine with the rubber chicken. The thug with a rifle, while appearing intimidating, might betray me to a higher bidder or might be a shitty shot.
A US Marine is far less likely to betray me, plus he (or she) would be able to either kill with the chicken or take the weapons from any attacker and kill/brutally maim/humiliate said attacker.

depends on the situation, but prolly the marine. Most security is only useful for telling you how to avoid the bad things like death. Once the crap hits the fan ur pretty much screwed no matter what you have for security, remember, the attacker (assuming he isnt an idiot) would have taken a look at your security and found a weekness, not to mention will prolly have somethign of the element of surprise because he picks the time and place. There is no such thing as absolute protection.
