Poll: What is your favorite "Standard Fantasy" Race?

That one race that gets me all hot and bothered... I always forget what race they are because I black out afterwards...

Other than that, either ponies or dragons... They seem to pop up a lot on my end... Either them or FAIRIES!!

Probably dwarves largely due to their boisterous nature and fantastic facial hair. Elves are a really close second for me because of their associations with both nature and archery but they're too damn snooty a lot of the time.

I think I'll go with troll. Just as a disclaimer, I'm not an internet troll.
Anyway, we always complain about how generic the fantasy races are becoming, but the trolls sort of circumvent that by being different in every piece of fantasy material they show up in. In one, they're basically ogres, in the next they're skinny mow-hawked Jamaicans, in the next they're literally made of stone.
Their personalities range from dumb and violent, to cowardly and conniving, to completely feral, to friendly but oblivious to the number of trees they've knocked down in their morning stroll. So, if I were to play as just one race in every fantasy game ever, it would probably be a troll.

I liked the portrayal of trolls in the Mirrodin block of Magic.
They were ancient, conniving and secretive. Plus they looked cool.

Elves purely for the Tolkien lore. The Silmarillion is such a great book to delve into and discover so many amazing intertwined stories.
