Poll: What kind of element would you bend?

I know this may have been done before, but it seems relevant again.

If you lived in the Avatar universe (assuming there were more Airbenders around), what element would you bend?

Keep in mind that each element has a secondary advanced form of bending that comes with it. For example, earthbenders can eventually learn to bend metal, firebenders can eventually learn lightning, waterbenders can bend blood (during a full moon) and plants, and air benders can manipulate sound.

I am stuck between Earth and Air, I can't really decide.

Which element would you pick and why?

I don't know much about the universe, so I'd pick fire, but only if I could conjure it. If the element had to be there already, I'd definitely pick air.

Fire is the only type of bending that can be conjured, but Earth and Air are always around.

I'm caught between fire and air. Water and earth both require that those elements be around for you to use (you need dirt or water), compared with air (which is almost always around) and fire (which just requires air as well).

I'd pick fire/lightning. Because the only natural "secondary advanced form of bending" that you speak of would have to be plasma. And since the majority of all matter in the universe is in a plasmic state than any of the other states (gas, liquid or solid that is), I'd have more control over our reality in general than the rest of the.. uhm "benders".

As a bending unit I'm only programmed to bend girders. but out of those ones maybe blood, cause it sounds cool. I'm not really sure what bending blood would do though so off to Wikipedia.

The secondary effects that I speak of are actually from the show...I didn't know about them either until I looked them up.

Huh. Someone actually agrees with me on the whole "soundbending" thing.

I for one, would choose water, since they seem to have the most spread. They can control people/animals, the clouds, the plants.. They can control almost anything.

Earth bending looks so cool if you ask me. And besides earth is all around you the ground, the sea floor, even lava is earth albeit super heated. So in my opinion earth is the most versatile and abundant thing you can bend. Besides air, but that is lame.

This doesn't make sense no matter what story it is in.

Ok you are entitled to your opinion.

But this is a hypothetical discussion about a fictional reality, not a forum of knowledgeable debate. It doesn't (and shouldn't) make sense.
