No clergy? I'd probably go for that. Do some good with your life, get a bit of an education, maybe a little respect. Who knows, maybe even make bishop or abbot someday. That's a cushy job.

I would definitely take a crack at being a tailor. If that fell through then guard or maybe an archer.

I'm surprised Priest or Monk or something similar isn't up there, but if I had to pick one from the list it'd be a tossup between Guard and Fighter, probably guard though.
Sorry. Seen alot of people choose that, I just wrote down what was on the top of my head.

I'll be completely honest. If I find myself in the past I'll start murdering people... just cuz it would be easy to get away with.

So Criminal

Weapon smith, because, hey, someone has to create the sword of doom and auction it off to the local evil overlord.

I would be the village crier and/or village idiot. Both honest professions where I can yell.

Been playing The Sims Medieval lately, having a blast. Specially the smith. But anyways.

Say you were living in the middle ages, or was teleported or whatever your mind might conjure up. What profesion would you prefer to have? Anything goes, but I've added some poll options that cower basics. = )

For added fun, tell us why! : )

Personally I would go for smith. Though it might be because I've done a bit of it in real life too. I like working with the metal, and besides. I could make eviiiil looking weapons. >:D
I'd be a tailor... which is what I already do. I hold a Master's degree in fashion design, have a small rabble of people under me to help finish garments and iron out designs, and a 3500 square foot workshop. I've made everything from wedding gowns to body armor and designed for every body type, season, and occasion.

The only difference between doing things in the modern day and doing things in a medieval age is in shipping/ logistics and the speed that things get stitched.

I'd be a bard. Why? I'unno... No one really had it good back then and bard sounds like the most entertaining, considering that's what it's labelled under ;P

Either:
- Woodworker/carpenter
- Blacksmith
- Horsetrainer/stablemaster/something of the sort.
- Troupe member, either behind the stages or on it it's all good.

A bard. I already play instruments, I'm apparently really good at improvising songs (especially when drinking) and I enjoy doing both.

If I got a choice and couldn't obviously pick nobility I wouldn't mind being a blacksmith, I'd be pretty darn buff, get to make stuff, work with horses ocaisonally. Practice archery on the weekends too.

But if I was going in with what I know now, I'd wrangle some sort of court retainership to a lord with my knowledge of medicine and science.
