Howdy friend with same avatar.

Depends on what your catalog of games is based on. I'd personally spring for Valkyria chronicles. I found MGS 4 to be eh, resistance 2 very much like resistance 1 with a couple new weapons, and the only racing games I enjoy are the destruction based ones (Burnout esque things)

Errr.... why don't you just do this yourself?

I mean I can understanda poll of 'what do you like best', but why ask everyone else do look at reviews then give their opinion instead of doing that on your own?

Just asking..

I hope none of you guys start a thread with the title "All games are boring and unoriginal nowadays".
All games aren't boring and unoriginal. Just Valkyria, it looks like Advanced Wars.
Well, I'm happy to see that people still decide they hate games with the intensity of boiling oil before playing them. Or indeed, before even watching a trailer, because I question if you even know what Valkyria Chronicles is since trailers would show you that it is clearly NOTHING like Advance Wars. I think you got the DS/PSP version of EndWar confused with Valkyria Chronicles, because that game basically is an Advance Wars clone...Whereas Valkyria Chronicles has about as much in common with Advance Wars as Fallout 3 does with Pokemon.

In any case, Valkyria Chronicles is the best sleeper hit of the year, and proof that if Sega would stop desperately trying to revive Sonic then they could give us some unique and interesting games.

Frankly, I'd narrow it down between MGS4 and Valkyria Chronicles. Then again, I'm a MGS fanboy...so take that as you will. Really, I've never been too impressed with the Resistance series, despite the glowing reviews. They just feel so...passable. Rented both, and wasn't particularly wowed by either. I think they are fun, but both games had me thinking "Meh...when will it end?" about 3/4ths of the way through.

Motorstorm is destruction based - you can run over smaller cars in a monster truck, shunt people into trees or lava, make a giant tower come crashing down on the track, and just generally cause extreme havok while trying to get to first place.
Well then. If they have more maps than the first, go for that man.

None of them. Go buy Edmund McMillen's new collection of indie games from the past 8 years called 'This is a Cry for Help'.

honestly for me it's a tie between mgs4 and motorstorm, the first motorstorm is a ton of fun

as for the cut scenes in mgs4, you can skip them if you want

tho i'll also say you should get little big planet because it's a ton of fun, no shootey blowey uppy just plain unadulterated fun, something that's been missing from games lately

Well Valkyria Chornicles is the one i'd advise you get. But they're all different. Valkyria Chornicles is a strategy game at heart with RPG elements and you play it like a Third-Person shooter when you actually move the units.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is part action part stealth and is probably the one most people would advise you get.

Resistance 2 is a bit more mindless than the above and is an excellent FPS with a good variety of weapons/enviroments and enemies and has a great multiplayer.

Motorstorm Pacific Rift if you prefer racing games. I don't really like racing games that much so not much to say about this one.

Actually, it has nothing to do with the Valkyrie Profile series. At all. They aren't even made by the same developers. They aren't even the same genre, Valkyria Chronicles is a strategy RPG with elements from third person shooters. Hell, they don't even have a vaguely similar setting or plot; Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictionalized, fantasy version of 1930s Europe, called Europa, during a fictionalized, fantasy version of WWII, except fought between what is basically NATO and the bastard child of the USSR and Nazi Germany.

Because they didn't help mutch. I'm asking the public for opinions since the customer is always right.

No one said anything like that. And it does remind me of Advanced Wars, just mixed with a primitive FPS. In that you take control of different units using turn based combat...

Take a chill mon ami, i just wanted to rant about how damn good valkyrie profile games are toooooooooo be honest lol

My true vote goes to MGS4 the story's deep, the gameplay's easy in the same way that the mario games are, it has ninja's and it's a good story concluder (Y)

Actually, I wasn't trying to be rude or anything, though I see how it could look that way when taken out of context.
