I live in Texas and i'm a bit a bit on the redneck side but let me set the matter straight on what a redneck is. Usually people think(yes even people from Texas and the south) a redneck is someone who wears overalls and a cowboy hat, drinks bear, and chews tobaco. I know people like this, and some are rednecks but alot are what i like to call hillbillies who hail from Arkansas. Rednecks got their name from kids and other people a long time ago. A person who worked all day lets say digging or building houses would get sun burnt usually across the back of their neck and guess what they were called rednecks. so the basic definition of a redneck is someone who works hard in the sun or a construction worker. So if a redneck is a hard working person(man or woman) who works hard for his family and to help others then i'm proud to be one. Now i'm from Texas and i have the Texan twang to my voice but thats because i live in a small town east of Austin(Music capital of the world) and by small i mean under 2,000 people small. Not everybody wears cowboy hats and not everybody is a republican, and yes there are terrible cooks in Texas i know a few, and yes Texas has some of the best BBQ in the country though Kansas and North and South Carolina have some great BBQ too. I just live in the town that TLC named had the best BBQ in the Nation. Snows BBQ in Lexington, Texas. Lexington, Texas NOT Kentucky. Kentucky has some good BBQ too.
