Fortunately, not every American is a brainless tard. But people like this don't do much to help out the world's opinions of the rest of you.
And I've wondered before - what's the deal in the US with Pearl Harbour, still? It was like seventy years ago. Just get over it already! Are we still going to be hearing about the World Trade Centre in half a century? God, I hope not, I was already tired of hearing about it nine years ago.

But nobody nowadays should be feeling animosity towards these countries for any of the things you've listed. They're different countries now. For instance, people shouldn't hate Germans (now) because of the atrocities 1940's Germany committed.
Yes, the difference however is that Germany has apologized for the Holocaust and is working to pay WWII off now, and it teaches in its schools how bad it was why it happened, as opposed to say Japan and Turkey where they say their genocides and atrocities happened, but it wasn't that bad. I mean there are these old women who were sex slaves for Japanese soldiers during WWII (apparently they thought that having sex right before battle energizes you) in South Korea who everyday since I think the Japanese embassy in South Korea was established just stand right outside protesting for an apology, no monetary compensation just an apology, and they're ignored.

I'm not saying that Japan deserved the Tsunami or that the people should feel ashamed for it (I mean there are alot of Germans in America that emigrated during the 1800's, they shouldn't really feel bad for the Holocaust really) but the government's refusal to apoligize for these atrocities would make more sense then "AHHH DEY BLEW UP MY PACIFIC BASE I WAS GOING TO USE TO KILL THEM WITH!!! WHAT EVIL BASTARDS THEY ARE FOR USING THEIR MILITARY TO ATTACK MY MILITARY WHEN I PUT AN EMBARGO ON THEM AND STARVED THEM I"M GONNA GO NUKE THEIR CIVILIANS NOW"

I would say that they're asking the wrong people for an apology. Modern Japan did nothing to them. Tell them to find the ones responsible and demand it from them.

However, the modern government is responsible for apologizing for the past government, we see this when the Pope apologized for the Crusades or when JFK apolgozied to the Japanese Americans who were sent to internment camps during WWII. If at the very least it issued an official apology the people afflicted would be happy, while instead they refuse and even add insult to injury by teaching their students that it wasn't as bad as it really was.

Why does the modern government bear any responsibility for the past government? Is not a government merely a body of people? And if a government itself is guilty of something, I would suppose that the responsibility would be transferred to its members, as a "group" as a concept cannot actually bear responsibility or have guilt. Only people can have responsibility or have guilt. The people then, that committed the Japanese atrocities are still the only ones responsible. The current people in charge of Japan had nothing to do with it.
Because they're the most recent form, they should at least apologize in behalf of the past government is basically what I'm saying since no one else really makes a difference.

oh yah and you wanted this

Ok, I'll grant that the government shouldn't downplay atrocities committed by past governments. The modern government is guilty of that at least, and that is one thing which the modern government should be expected to apologize to.

But why apologize on behalf of the past government? What difference does it make if they do it, or I myself apologize to the Korean women on the old government's behalf?

how can anyone dish out ignorance?

Ignorance has nothing to do with being a douche-bag. There are plenty of educated douch-bags.

That made me physically sick reading the sheer stupidity and lack of empathy shown by these people, the war was bad to everyone. I'm not sure I can understand what compels people to carry a grudge so far especially the "Peaceful Christians" who claimed God went and smited Japan for Pearl Harbour. Bad business all round in my opinion.

It's kind of funny, didn't the Americans in that link do what you're doing now? Judging an entire country for the actions of a few people?

That said, did anyone else find the top right post in the first link funny? I certainly did.

I don't blame them for holding a grudge, I doubt the Japanese liked America bombing them, and they probably hold a grudge the same as many people near Pearl Harbor did.

My wish is to never meet those kind of people ever, other wise I'd feel the need to punch them in the face. Pearl Harbor, really? That's how you justify hundreds of dead people, and thousands that are suffering?

I...need to lie down, my head hurts.
