Poll: What type of gamer are you?

There was a research paper about MUDs a while back that identified four categories of gamers, described them, and talked about their interactions in multiplayer games. I don't remember where I saw the original article but I think the categories apply to both multiplayer and single player games.

The poll question is, which type of player are you?

Achiever: Interested in in-game power, use the best items, most effective techniques, min/max for effectiveness above all else.

Explorer: Interested opening up the whole map, collecting every widget, and uncovering every secret.

Socializer: Role playing focus. Interested more in the social aspect of multiplayer games than the gameplay itself. So the game becomes the relationship between you and the other players.

Killer: You engage in video game cruelty whenever possible, you always take the evil path in single player games, or go out of your way to harm other players in multiplayer games.

I'm a mix of Achiever, Explorer and Socialiser. Maybe a bit more of a Socialiser.
I remember reading about this research in PCGamer Magazine a while back, they were referred to by the suits of cards though.
Achievers were Diamonds (loot)
Explorers were Spades (searching everywhere - even underground
Socialisers were Hearts (pretty obvious)
Killers were Clubs (clubbing other players to death?)

I'm a greed player,
I steel shit, all of it, for no other reason that I can
it's probably the reason my friends don't let me play crystal chronicles anymore

I'm an achiever/explorer combo - I like getting all my skills maxxed out, but I have an urge to go rooting around places as well... I'm definitely more on the achiever side though...

No killers? I need to exorcise my misanthropy and general cynicism, and what better way to do that then Snipe Mother******s from 400 meters, steal their stuff, and do it again?
And yes I nuked megaton first chance. Then restarted so I could personally kill everyone there face to face. And nuke their bodys.

i am SO an explorer

my friends even tell me off on it lol but a better question would be what kind of game do u like? shooting, metal gear, zelda, and so on. each answer would describe u differently

I'm a mix of all of them. In games where I can, I'll try to brutally mutilate people; in others, I'll look for everything, and so on.

If I had to choose one, I'd say killer, but only since I like trying to find new or funny ways to kill people in games. Though in games with good/evil choices, I always go with good.

Actually one strategy guide I saw said that killing and looting first, then nuking is the way to go because it maximises your loot. Just spare Moira because she relocates to Underworld and you can still do the book quest for stats, then wipe the place out :).

Interesting you brink that up. I was just thinking about how to change myself from an "achiever" to something else, because in a game like fallout or oblivion if you just go for the objectives (quests) you end up blowing through the game much faster than intended.
