VI was the first I ever played and I thought it was boring as hell (at the time) VII was the first one I actually completed and is still easily my favourite (and the only one I have completed multiple times) then I went back and retried VI and absolutely loved that as well. Now I have played and finished every main game in the series and quite a few spin offs with the exception of XI XIV and XIII-2 (I have this one but havent had time to play it yet.

Overall I like the series but its very hit and miss you get gems like IV,VI,VII and X but then you also get ones that arent really that great i.e II and XII were especially bad for me (except XIIs end game) and XIII wasnt much better while I,III, and V are basically the same game upgraded each time. What I do like though is that with the exception of III and V they tend to try new stuff when making games in the main series they dont just find a formula and stick to it they change it constantly which helps keep the series fresh even if sometimes they mess up spectacularly.

I really dont care for the world of FF tactics and XII though it bored me rigid I did manage to finish XII and didnt have fun with it until 66 hours in (yes I looked at the in game clock) while on tactics I gave up after 40 hours I just couldnt take it anymore.

I played X first, but didn't like it at the time. Then I played XII and loved every second of it. Put over 1200 hours in the game, and I will probably play it more in the future. After that I played some of the older games as well, but just didn't enjoy them as much as XII. I gave X another go as well and this time got hooked and loved it as well. The way it tells its story was a little awkward, but it was a good story and had some fun characters.

Bought XIII when it came out and enjoyed it as well. Yes, it was linear and sometimes convoluted, but the gameplay was smooth and the story good (if you take the time to get into it). Bought XIII-2 as well, but haven't finished it yet. It was fun, but didn't get me hooked.

FF 4 was the first one (SNes version) I ever played. The retranslation by j2e is great. Actually been playing it recently. FF6 got the Standing Guard retranslation done a while back, it really gets a nice balance between the American version (which wasn't that bad) and the more accurate retranslations done (which were a bit stiff). Someday I'll try VII.

Tactics Advanced. Okay, it's not a numbered game in the series, but I was my first.

Other than that, probably FFIV. I don't play to much Final Fantasy so I haven't touched it in a while.

My first was Mystic Quest and I have played other Final Fantasy spin-off titles like Adventure and, Legends 2 on the Gameboy, Tactics Advanced and, Dirge of Cerberus. I haven't played many recently though. I didn't care much for Tactics Advanced and Legends 2 was the last one I got (with the original box!) but it's difficult for me to really get in to. I played one level of Dirge of Cerberus and plan on getting into that in full eventually. I think it's pretty fun!

My favorite Final Fantasy though is VIII. I love how they're in a not-too-distant future and yet they're still fighting a Sorceress. A no BS, straight up Sorceress in a time of cars, electronics, ballistic missiles, etc. Also love the Junction system and Card Game.

Edit - Why hasn't there been a full Final Fantasy Card Game? I think they have a TCG in Japan but other than that, why hasn't Tetra Master been made into a real thing?! I'd play the Hell out of something like that.

First I've played was FFX, which I loved as a kid. Other than that, I've only played two FF games. The last one I played was FF XII, which I didn't like.

My first was IV on SNES though it wasn't my favourite at the time, gave it a second chance buying I/II on the GBA and now I've played almost all of them. VI and Tactics are my favourite.

None. I've never played an FF game in my life. That also means that I don't still play games from the series.

Final Fantasy 10-2

Lead into me being able to pick up FFXII and having one of the best experiances in my gaming career.
12 is fantastic in my opinion. Kept me hooked and exploring for days that game.

My first was 10, loved it to bits and hold it as one of the best in the series. I've played 1 (has not aged well), 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7, 8 ,9 ,10, 10-2, 12, 13, 13-2.

The best ones imo are 3, 4, 7, 10, 12, 13-2. Not including spin-offs like tactics but I love tactics.

Final Fantasy 12. It was absolutely fan-tastic! Then I played 7, 10, Crisis Core, and 13. of these, 13 was the worst.
Can tell you that Final Fastasy 12 felt like the most adult in the series. All the politics that were going on, the fact that there were no real dumb twists to be had. Really liked the judges, the characters seemed to act like real people. Know people hated the combat, hey they were trying something new so give them a break. I mean the gambits were things you were going to do anyways so whats the fuss all about. Very much liked how the license board worked. It added a bit of strategy to spending those points. I like 3,7,8,Tactics, but it just felt a little more mature. Know Vaan was kind of annoying, Titus and Hope were way worse. Everybody likes Fran, how could you hate that sexy bunny lady.
I must admit that Fran made the game a little more interesting for the young little mann that I was back then. And I really liked the plot. Well the good parts of it, anyway. The world and the intrige was way cool, but there were the typical ff bits where they drag the cutscenen on for far too long. And Vaan, well, I was 14 when I played that game, I liked him because he was nobody and I could projet myself onto him.

I played 7 first. Then went on to 8, 9 and 10. After that I went back to the beginning, bought origins & anthology, 4 DS, 3 DS and 6, and played 1 - 10 in order. I don't really pay any attention to whatever came after 10.

Still go through 1-10 now and again.

Played 1, all the way through. Borrowed it from a neighbor, and I didn't know you could over write saves. Sorry, Eddie. Man, that game would whip you if you didn't have ribbons equipped.
After that, it was 6 to 10. With 6 being the best of the best. 7 was okay. 8 I couldn't make it past the first disc. 9 was good, but it came out at a bad time, right at the end of the series. Never finished it. Played X all the way through. Battle system was great, the rest of the game sucked nuts. Never played XII or XIII. XI is an MMO, so f' that noise.

My first FF was actually the first FF. Loved it and still play it every couple of years. Alongside Dragon Warrior 3 it was my favourite RPG, and one of my favourite games overall, of the generation.

My favoutite FF is FF4 followed extremely closely by FF6. Both are two of my favourite games of all time.

But no, I don't currently play the series any longer. The last title I played at any length was FFX-2, which I actually quite enjoyed. Starting with FFX, however, it just didn't feel like the same series I enjoyed any more.
