First one was Bulbasaur on Red.
Whenever I play a pokemon game for the first time I always start off with the grass starter, which became a pain in the butt in Gold and Silver.

Well, I think I needed to have Charmander at level 14 or so before he could beat Brock. I then almost had to get a Charizard before he could beat Misty. In a way he was right.

As far back as I can remember my first Pokemon game was Crystal. It is why I love Cyndaquil and its evolutions so much, including Fire Pokemon.
