It's been a while, but all 3 consoles have had their flagship video game released (Halo 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl). These games have had extensive coverage, and were the most awaited game for each consoles hardcore fanbase. My question is, now what? Where to next?

Halo 3, is getting Halo 3: ODST as an expansion, and has 1 Billion combined matchmaking games played. This does not include Customs, Forge, Guest players, Theatre and offline play. With no intentions of dying JUST yet.

Metal Gear Solid 4, is quickly being swept under the rug, by already more advanced shooters, such as Killzone 2, and Resistance 2, and will be lost shortly in the sea of games that is sure to come in during the 10 year PS3 lifespan.

Brawl, was a mediocre success for the Wii, with mainly only the hardcore fanbase buying the excellent installation of the Smash Bros. However, it's still sitting nicely atop most games played (Partly due to online features for Wii being lacking but what the hell right?), and with competitive circuits on the web to keep the fanbase interested, it's sure to hold that spot for alot longer.

But what comes next I ask? Halo is bound to become lackluster when CoD5:MW2 comes out, and Gears of War 3, and basically any other game that the MLG hardcore crowd claims is better. MGS4, is already on a slow dying path and maybe it's just my lack of research but it's sure to die out very soon, and finally Brawl. With Wii's crappy online service, theres only so many LAN parties you can do against your friends before the game loses it's last leg and eventually disappears underneath the shitty casual stream of games the Wii is pumping out.
