I've had to just pick Rock 'n' Roll because I like most rock subgenres to an extent. Straightforward rock (the Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand), indie rock (Sparklehorse, Warpaint), alternative rock (Muse, Radiohead, late-period Linkin Park), progressive rock (Mike Oldfield, Yes, Pink Floyd), soft rock (Coldplay, U2), hard rock (Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge), even the odd bit of punk rock (though I'm still wary of that - Green Day's American Idiot is pretty much it so far). I'm partial to most other kinds - hip-hop can be fun (Dr. Steel), I like a few metal subgenres (though oddly, only the ones other metal fans seem to dismiss, such as Drone and Nu - e.g Sunn O))) and early Linkin Park respectively) and electronic music can be beautiful (Vangelis). I've even been thinking about trying out classical recently - any recommendations?

Are AMVs a genre? Because I get pretty much all my music from them now so I guess I listen to a mix of genres. If I had to point out some specific then I would say power metal(I think) as im enjoying albums from artists like Crystallion and From autumn to ashes.

Classic rock fan here who dabbles in other genres, especially loves 70s era progressive rock, and is becoming increasingly bored with metal music (*shields up*).

The last thing I listened to was Flaming Lips, so here: n[/youtube]

Currently Hip-Hop and Classical, which has been pretty standard for the past 4 or so years, plus as of last week a bit of Ratatat thrown in, which I may or may not be counting as a genre in and of itself.

Big fan of rock here.

I don't know what specific subgenres and subsubgenres I like, though. If you asked me I'd probably post this picture

and say "Whatever that is. That's what I like."

Definitely rock music these days, I haven't heard it called rock and roll in a long time. I'm mostly in to Tool, Dredg, Oceansize, Audioslave, QotSA and Soundgarden nowadays.

I go through music phases nearly on a regular basis, previously I was getting in to Industrial (with it's Rock and Metal offshoots as well), but due to the lack of stand out albums in the genre, that genre has been taken a back seat in my musical listening.

At the moment in terms of Rock, it's either Shoegazing (favourite genre by far), 70's British Punk, and 70/80's British Post-Punk. With a Bit of Slowcore, No-Wave, and Dream Pop for good measure.

In terms of Electronic, I've gotten back in to Drum and Bass, and I'm still listening to my beloved Trip-Hop.

Definitely Death Metal.

With most genres now, either everything sounds bland, emotionless, or just plain terrible to me.

Metal is the only genre that still holds my interest.
