I can never narrow it down for a singular game entirely, but I can at least offer my fave RPG. Suikoden 2 recently took that helm. Wonderful story and characters, nice art style, great music, and a fun as hell battle system. The overworld is a little tiring sometimes though. And the villain is someone I reeeaaallly loved to hate. Winning his rather difficult fight was very satisfying

Yeah... I can't just choose one favorite in terms of video games... mostly because I like them for different reasons...

Other than that, that list is kind different than my "best" list... But, I digress...

Ratchet & Clank. 13 years later, still play through it every year or so. I love the characters, I love the story, I love the music and I especially love the sheer creativity that went into the design of all the different weapons and gadgets. The sequels all brought their own ideas to the series and improved it in many ways, but the original will always be my favourite.

That Poll option had nothing to do with the topic, which makes this two topics in one, which was quite confusing at first, but now I am okey with it :D

Favorite game....
Has to be Warcraft III (Reign of Chaos AND The Frozen Throne) for me :)

Once again, Welcome!

Welcome to the board, Vader. I'm afraid I can't really answer your question as there are too many choi-

I don't have a clear cut "favourite game" but here is my top 10 (my current one at any rate):

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Psychonauts

Silent Hill 2

Deadly premonition

Persona 4

Pokemon Red/Blue (include the remakes)

Resident Evil 2

Persona 3: FES

Chrono trigger

Phoenix Wright: Ace attorney

A lot of these are probably considered "safe" choices, but these are all amazing games in my opinion, and I never really tire of playing them. Psychonauts, Castlevania: SotN, Resident Evil 2 and the Pokemon games, I make a point of replaying them at least once a year.

Syphon Filter. For me, it's as close to perfect as a game can be.

Solid gameplay that still holds up, if a bit dated, riveting story that actually ends, well-paced everything, character design and development with no side bullshit getting in the way, fantastic music that not only perfectly sets the tone as needed, but is awesome to listen to on its own; it has it all and then some. The weapon and tactic variety and versatility were outstanding, and it broke a lot of conventions people are still whining about clamoring for to this day.

Not sure I could pick a singular favorite game. There are so many that I've absolutely adored over the years (many of which I've logged countless hours in), from Homeworld to SIns of a Solar Empire, from Terraria to Conker's Bad Fur Day, from MechWarrior 2 to Doom 2, from Lode Runner to Donkey Kong Country.

That said, I can easily narrow down my favorite game series. And, without a doubt, it would be the Half-Life / Portal series. Every entry was masterfully crafted and I still revisit them from time to time. (and enjoy every minute) The series has a special place in my heart, for numerous reasons, and has never failed to impress.

Shame about that third entry, though...

To be honest I find it hard to pinpoint just one favourite game. Too many spring to mind and just too many to list that are my favourites. But top 2 would be Silent Hill 2 and Dragon Age (ALL of them! Because I can.) Though Dragon Age is slowly taking over the top of the stairs for favourite. Goddamn I love me some Dragon Age.

Doom and Doom 2. Some of my earliest memories involve sneaking out of my bedroom to watch my Dad play Doom late at night. Despite the simplistic graphics and lack of a y-axis, it still draws me in every time I play. I loved the level design, monsters (giant flying meatballs are amazing), multiplayer, and mods. I group them together because I can't pick which one I like more. Nothing tops opening a new room at 10 health, with only a handful of shells, bullets, and plasma left, and still managing to come out the other side.

Shadow of the Colossus.

I'm a sucker for that beautiful atmosphere of loneliness, its ability to tell a great story without needless exposition and without feeling the need to explain everything, the amazing colossus battles, the pureness of the experience (no mooks to fight, no optional objectives), Agro being the best game animal I know, the absolutely gorgeous music, the story and the aesthetic of the world and everything in it.

FarCry: the perfect combination of cliché goofiness with tense stealthy shooting gameplay set in many beautiful locations. I love it despite its many flaws, and I've played it on many occasions since I first got it in 2004, including getting the Xbox 360 version in 2014, and the Steam version however many months ago.

Final fantasy 6. I consider that to be the gold standard i compare any jrpg to. The only thing missing from it is probably multiple endings. But as it stands it's the closes we'll get to a perfect jrpg imo.

Megaman X is my favorite game. I've beaten it hundreds of times (it only takes like 45 minutes), yet every time its still awesome. Major part of my childhood that still holds up to day. It actually puts many modern releases to utter shame.
