Pretty simple, do you like summer?

I ask because I bloody hate summer, and I seem to be the only one I know who does.

For one, the heat. Severe cold can be bad, but it's tolerable. Severe heat is like the air itself trying to annoy you. I'm usually short tempered, when it's hot, that's worsened to the point where I begin to understand what being infected with the rage virus feels like. Everything is worse when it's hot. A simple task can be made into an insurmountable effort. Stubbing your toe is suddenly made ten times worse. I'm constantly goddamn thirsty, and if water just doesn't quench my first enough, it can get expensive. It even finds a way to have a financial impact!

And direct sunlight, let's talk about that. Probably just me, but isn't the feeling of direct, hot sunlight just irritating? You can feel it burning you, it's like being poked with a thousand tiny needles, not actual pain, but complete irritation. I like cold sunny days, they're my favourite kind. They look nice, and to me, they feel nice. The sun is a gentle warmth in those days instead of verging on a martian heat ray.

And the days! To me, it's just fucking unnatural to me that the sun starts to come up at 4 in the bloody morning. I know, it's actually the very definition of natural, it's the seasons, but it just doesn't goddamn feel right. Neither does it still being light at 9 at night either. It messes me right up, makes me think it's earlier/later than it actually is.

And of course, hayfever. Oh fucking hayfever. I'm pretty sure I've been turned down for jobs because of my constant sniffing because the air is trying to fuck me up. I have asthma too. It's been mild and dormant for ages, but it came back last hayfever season, and didn't bother me until it started up again this year.

So yeah, summer, not a big fan. I like the weather cold and dark, thank you very much. I like being woken up when I step out of my door with fresh, cold air, not blinded and boiled. I like early nights, even shitty towns look great all lit up in the dark.

RANT END.

It's far too hot for me. I prefer temperatures around 15C, but when we're getting up to 35C (like today), I just hate it. Conversely, I quite enjoy the cold.

I'm Irish.

What's a Summer?

Oh, that one week we had in June? Yeah, that was great.

Edit: Appreciate the sun, ingrates!

Took the words right out of my mouth. I'm built more for the cold than the heat. I don't mind a pleasantly warm day between 20C and 25C as long as there is a slight, cool breeze. In this part of Canada though, we get some disgusting humidity in the summer time. I hate it when it's 31C outside but with the humidity, is actually at 38C.

At least during the winter time, I can bundle up appropriately to go outside. In the summer, there's no escaping the ridiculous heat.

Love it, I can actually move around without getting frostbite (I'm cold blooded). I love being able to go outside and do stuff like swim or have fires.

I like it, because I don't go to school. Don't like it, because when school is over, lots of other things take its place.

Mostly I like it.

I don't like summer. I'm an autumn person.

I prefer trying to stay warm in the cold than trying to stay cool in the heat.

Luckily I'm in the southern hemisphere, so summer is a long way away.

I'm indifferent to it since where I live is pretty damn sunny all year round. The only time it honestly feels like Summer is roughly around August, cause then the temperatures reach 90F - 100F. That and once you're done with school, there's no such thing as a summer vacation anymore.

I love it. But it's too short here in Canada. Hmm. What else. It's also my last name. Oh and I do appreciate having a garden. And road trips.

I hate summer with a bloody passion. For two reason: The heat and my genetics.

To start of I hate being hot. If I had to chose between dying of heatstroke or by freezing to death, I'm being frozen to death. I actually love the cold so the winter is my season of the year.

Now the gross genetics part. My father sweats like crazy even after 5 minutes of hard work. Me and my sister sadly inherited this trait as well, as I will sweat just standing in the sun for about 2 minutes. So I get all sweaty and sticky and I just hate that, since I then have an urge to shower 5 times a day and I'm not the guy who enjoys that.

The fact I work in a Garden Center at a grocery store doesn't help much either, and since that is summer only and I hate my job, I kinda hate summer.

I'm mostly positive toward summer. Primarily the weather. I'm from the Middle East, so it is way, way too cold for me in America most of the time. I'm wearing leather jackets when it is 85 degrees outside. So in the summer, the weather actually becomes tolerable.

That said, there is no football in summer (except for the World Cup every four years), which kind of kills my weekends. So summer loses points for that.

I prefer spring or fall, mostly because I am constantly hot and the increased heat makes me uncomfortable.

My air conditioner is broke atm, so.... :(

(But I do like summer because I get more freedom, no school and a paying job, wohoo!)

I love summer! Bring on the heat and sunlight :D

Ironically I also love winter. It's the in between seasons' weather I'm not fond of...

...What? Don't look at me like that. Moderation sucks XD

I personally hate it.

Too damn hot. It's going to be 120 degrees soon since it's been damn near close to that for the past several days, and we've already had our first dust storm.

It really sucks if your A/C is broken, like mine is and probably won't be fixed until Friday or Saturday, because all you want to do is just crawl into a hole and die. :(

I don't hate it, but I do dislike it. I prefer the more moderate Spring and Fall. I loved it when I went swimming more often, but now it's just too damn hot. However, I still like it more than winter. Heat is uncomfortable, but cold can make me feel actual pain, and wearing more lawyers is bulky and makes walking around hard once you get past t-shirt, hoodie, undercoat, and greatcoat.

I also have a grudge against winter since my birthday is Dec 1st, but I never, ever get snow. It'll snow in Novemeber, sometimes late Octotber, it'll snow the next week, hell, it'll snow the 2nd, but never, ever on the 1st.

When I think of Summer, I imagine Christmas and barbecues.

The first is OK, the second is divine.

The heat is pretty good as well.

Better than Winter, but too hot for my tastes most of the time, especially since I'm not allowed to use an A/C unit in Germany.

Damned 70 year old wiring!

Purely for weather reasons? I hate it. I sunburn easily, it's impossible to defeat the heat by dressing properly but when it's cold you can just bundle up until you're warm, and I much prefer rain aesthetically. It doesn't snow where I live so I don't have to worry about that problem in winter.

Otherwise, I get time off from school to go do whatever I want and spend less time getting up early. Also I like longer days, they make me feel like time's passing more slowly.

It can get fairly hot where I live. You know when people get sad when the weather turns cloudy and rainy? When the heat gets to me, I don't know exactly what happens, but I get easily angry and irritated.I also have to put a tarp over my small vegetable garden in the middle of the afternoon to help them out.

I wont say I 'hate' summer, because I tend to enjoy the season in other places that aren't so intense during that time. However, I don't tend to complain about it out loud very often; because then other people just get going about it and the conversation seems to last forever. Then they send me pictures everyday of their car thermometers going, "CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!"
