Yes. Yes i do. Two reasons.

1) I must know what not to say,or at least keep low voice.

2) I do not believe any authorities. I always have a suspicion that someone might have been punished unfairly.

I'm a curious person by nature, and it let's me no where the too far mark is. It also gives me a smug sense of superiority if someone gets banned for something that is blatantly too far and offensive.

I do it because it helps me to understand what is and isn't acceptable. Sometimes I find that despite the (quite helpful) Banhammer stickies there are still grey areas, and watching other people mess it up in practice gives me a better sense of what will attract moderator attention.

It depends on who the person is. If it's a big name around here, like Neonbob, NoMoreSanity, or Max, then yes. If he's relatively new, or I don't know him/her, then no.

Usually because I want to get a better measurement of A) the admins around here (how fair do they judge?) and B) the person in question. If he has been banned for a specific reason this might impact how I weigh his opinion in the matter at hand.
