I know you have seen at least one repeat thread in your forum life, whether it has been here on the Escapist, or some other thread.
I think we can all agree that that period last year when MLP:FiM was picking up steam, the "what is with MLP?" repeat threads were getting very annoying. I think the worst I saw it was when there were three that popped up in a week =|

I don't really care why people make repeat threads (at least for this thread), but you can talk about that and any theories you may have. I want to focus on what kind of repeat threads annoy you, and when they do start to annoy you.

Note: I included the poll because some people would rather throw in their vote and leave without a comment, which is fine. I prefer a discussion about the subject, but whatever tickles your pickle. If the poll options are not that good, I may change them. Like I said, I'd rather a discussion about this, not votes.

This exact joke has already been done this morning, just sayin'. No idea whether the thread's been sunk or locked by now.

It's more a time thing. A lot of the "ME3's Ending" threads are starting to irritate me. Mostly because there will be like 3-10 of them on the front page.

What bothers me is when its a topic that's overtly inflammatory. Granted, being a super common repeat thread can make something inflammatory, but that's a whole other ballgame.

Only bothers me if the same exact thread was made that same day. Once a thread is a day old and sinks below the sight of the common visitors I do not mind seeing a new one rise in its place and having the discussion start over.

It's more a question of timing. I think it's reasonable to have repeat threads as long as a decent amount of time (at least a few months?) separates the two. Nothing wrong with opening up a new discussion about the same topic, changed opinions and new users make this forum dynamic.

However, repeat threads borne out of a laziness to check if it has not been done recently is pretty inexcusable.

There is a special hell just for you and this repeat thread about repeat threads -__-

Though I find it more amusing than annoying. But still.
Too my Irony for me to resist! I'm just a hipster like that I guess.

Only if a thread pops up that is identical to another that is currently active.

Before they even start being repeated. I hate you all and your original thread ideas >_>.
