I. HATE. THIS. Why do people do it??? Surely the etiquette of the pavement would suggest you don't do this?! GAH!
But yeah, I get this all the time. Most people tend to walk on the side of the pavement they're used to driving on (well, I read that, anyways) but I hate it when people are walking right down the centre, you move, they keep on going. It's common courtesy.
It's the same in shops. Someone stands RIGHT in the middle of the aisle, and you have to dance around them. Why should you have to make an exception in your life for a stranger, when they're not prepared to show you the same courtesy??
I don't know how it is anywhere else, but in the UK, I think it's probably down to a lot of English people being thoroughly rude. I don't understand it, I've been brought up to help others, yadda yadda. Some people seem to have been dragged up.
