just curious.

Rural: country roads and farms perhaps. You are outside the city limits.
Small Town: the idea of small varies of course, so i will let you be the judge.
City: Larger than a town. again, the distinction is up to you.
Great City: Places like New York, L.A. London, Paris, Moscow.

I live in a city that is smaller than any of the surrounding towns. I think it's the 4th smallest city in the country. So it's not like a city the way London is, or Sheffield, or Newcastle. It's pretty rural, someones business is everybodys business, no decent shops and it's 20 minutes drive to he nearest ones. It is okay, I guess.

I am jealous, I love heading up north (to get away from light pollution) and seeing the stars.
I once saw Neptune, it was awesome.

Well, I'm pretty close to the city, but I live in the suburbs. Since there isn't an option for that, I guess I'll have to go with 'city.' Unless Melbourne counts as big. I mean, it's one of the biggest cities in Australia, but it hardly rates on the same level as Milan or New York or something.

Darn, you got me there, even with my telescope I have yet to see Neptune very clearly.

I love staring at Saturn and Mars--(I hope my generation attempts to go there...) ;-;

Very large town / small city.

It's considered a city in Canada, but population-wise it would only be considered a town in the United States.

My uncle's telescope is awesome because he got the science department to chip in at the school he teaches at. It was about 3mm across in the scope, and looked like a banded blue-gray ball.

A pretty dull city, with a population of about 1.2 million.
It's still a nice place to live though.

I live in New Zealand as well. In a city of about 80,000. I'm pretty sure every country has its fair share of those things you listed. Really it's a great country.
